Our backs are badly against the wall now If we go into Utah with same mentality we had tonight we will not be making any playoffs.

They all played poorly, including Yao which was given the ball several times but resulted in turnover after turnover.

    NO defense at all

Pray the Suns lose 2 and we win all 4

There's no way we make it anyway. We'll be suffering from post-traumatic-decent-uniform syndrome for the rest of the season.

In all likelyhood, the Suns will lose three more games and we will lose 1. Playoffs Baby!

Yao played like crap but he only had 3 turnovers as opposed to Mobley or Taylor who each had 4. Anyways, just a bad team effort all around.

Don't worry folks! Only 4 games left for us to b**** and moan. Pretty soon, all of us will be put out of our misery (until next season at least).

Good luck to Phoenix. I actually think that the Suns have a better shot at knocking off the Spurs and the Mavs than the Rockets would have. The Rockets would have just embarrassed themselves on national tv during the playoffs.

    Until next year folks!

How can you say we had to win this one?!?

This has been marked by everyone as the game we would probably lose.

Fact is if we win out we are in.

If we lose tomorrow and win out, we are likely in.

Any more than 3-1, and we deserve not to be in.

But this wasn't the end all, beat all. And anyone who thought we would go 7-0 wasn't thinking rationally.

Remember this post in a week and a half.

The Suns have had the easier schedule. They played Denver and Memphis four times, while the Rockets have only played them three times. The played San Antonio, Dallas and Portland just three times, while the Rockets have played them four times.

It makes sense that the Suns have a better record, considering that they have had the easier schedule thus far. It will even out though, by the end of the season.

Suns actually play well against the top teams in the West while the Rockets get consistently destroyed as of late.

I can make a case for the Suns to beat Dallas or San Antonio at home. Its not a given that Suns will lose both of these games.

If the Suns just win one against Dallas or SA (highly likely), its all over for the Rockets.

since it is likely the Rockets will be in the lottery again...this team cannot stand pat the way it is. Role player changes must be made.

And it starts with the back-up point guard. If Moochie Norris is a Rocket next year, I will have to question the organization's desire to win. I do not care how big his contract is. Release him because anyone else would be better at this juncture.

Get rid of T-Mo, and replace him with anyone.

It wasn't so much the fact that we lost, it's how we lost that everyone is so annoyed at.

I agree like crazy with this. Everyone expected the Suns to lose to the Lakers too, but they took them to the wire. We were expected to lose this game, but not with 25% shooting or whatever it was. We showed tonight that when it really matters only our 3's can shoot 50%. That's pathetic.

The Suns still have the tougher schedule, but we've given them comfort here -- we've let them know that when the going gets tough, when everything's on the line, we don't have a way of playing competitive... while they look like they do. Right now Phoenix is playing above expectations while we're playing below them. And I'm sure, after they saw HOW we lost tonight, they're smelling blood and loving it. We stomp Utah, all's forgiven. I'm not holding my breath, but it's happened before.

When you're players talk to the Chron and actually say things like "we have to hope that Phoenix loses", then you know it's over.

Why do they even CARE what Phoenix does? We were in the 8th spot, why did we care about Phoenix? Why weren't they looking at Utah scoreboards?

Why must this team fight to stay above Phoenix rather than fight to actually win?

On a side note, shouldn't we aim to win EVERY game of the season? Why is now any different? Why do we NOW have to win every game? If we had taken care of business, we would be loocked for 8th.

No doubt, Phoenix will lose 2. Who knows, kaybe 3. But what makes you think Houston will win 4, or even 3?

This wasn't even the toughest game of our end of season schedule. The toughest game against Utah. You expect the Suns to lose against Dallas? No frikkin way. Phoenix are one of the best home teams in the West, Dallas are on back-toback in a draining loss against the Lakers, and are without Micheal Finley to contain some of the firepower.

On another note, why the hell does Cat think there's a big 3 in Houston? What makes him think he's a better option than MoT? If there was a big 3, it would be Yao/Mo/Francis. I'm happy that Cat works hard and defends well, but it's time to get rid of this "clan" mentality. This is the Houston Rockets. There's no big 3. There's a big 5, and that's the 5 players on the floor.

Show us what you're made of Rockets. Jazz are resting Stockton for the playoffs, and will probably start that with Malone tonight too. Let's see if you can beat a resting team.

Rockets lost so many close games this season. The Rockets shouldn't be competing with the Suns right now...they should be in the Playoffs. It's too bad that it turns out that way.

The Rockets might be the most naive team in the NBA. They come up with a plethora of excuses after many of their disappointing losses.

Rockets haven't "sacked up" in the last 4 years. Can someone tell me the last great team we've defeated on the road over the years?

The Rockets are just a cheap tent that folds when it comes across Griffin's weed smoke.

Nice post, Sane. I agree with every bit of it.

Unfortunately, every time an opponent sits a franchise player our Rockets see it as an excuse to take it easy. We'll see if tomorrow's a big enough deal to break the trend.

Yao played poorly tonite, that has been said many times over, in fact i dont he will ever play another game where he will not get scrutinized, thats just a fact when your a 7-6 Chinese dude.

No doubt Yao turned it over too many times, but fellow Rocket fans get used it, so long as we have Rudy/Smith's system if ISO ball these nights are going to happen.

Yao's style is just dying for cutters to the basket, but everyone is content or coached to stay far away.

Place anybody in Yao's position in the Rockets Offence ( I use this term loosely) and they will bound to fail once in a while. This offense is just too stagnant, too predictable, and recently quite boring...

Not even shaq would be nearly as dominant as he is now if he was put in Yao's position in the Rockets Offense. The difference here is Fox and Kobe cuts to the basket...Fisher might take a dribble before he pulls up, instead of automatically settling for the three...even that stupid Madsen cuts right to the basket...that is the difference, there is movement...

So turnovers, well, get used to it, that is a consequence of the style that our team is coached, our starting lineup Yao, Mobes, Wink, Taylor/Griffin all want their shots in ISO...turnovers are bound to happen
