Man I got a list of a couple hundred things that I wanted to use...and that was before I attacked the internet. About 75 percent of the song came from my initial list and the other 25 from internet stuff. I should have included Milli Vanilli. Maybe in the video I will have a reference to them...some obvious lip syncing or something...I dunno

BTW-any video folks out there that want to take on a project pro bono lemme know. This song could use it. Email me.

You should have a Tiffany look-a-like lip synching Milli Vanilli in a Mall.

    Tiffany was a hottie.

man when i was listening all i heard was bo boski or something then when i read the lyrics i separated bo bo ski and wat'n tat'n. however, my mom used to say bo bo ski wat'n tat'n (or call me and my sister that occasionally) quite a bit back in the day. i have no idea what it is or what it means but i definitely remember it.

Bobo ski wat'n tat'n is a hand clap rhyme. Some of my kids at school still use it. I remember Friday Night Videos but not Manimal.

Was Solid Gold in the 80's?

I remember the Solid Gold dancers...they looked like Fame dropouts.

Not bad Chance. Just FYI, Tori Amos had a song called "Glory of the 80's". Her lyrics are a bit more cynical and ironic though.

    Glory of the '80s

I took a taxi from LA to Venus in 1985
    I was electromagnetically sucked back
into a party going on that night
It was the glories of the ‘80s
with karma drawn up in lines
and two bugle boy models saying “baby
it’s a freebie you sure look deprived”

I had the story of O in my bucket seat
    of my wanna be Mustang
    auditioning for reptiles in their
    Raquel Welsh campaign
in the glories of the ‘80s you said
    “I’m not afraid to die”
I said I don’t find that remotely funny
even on the space cake high

and then when it all seemed clear
just then you go and disappear

silicone party barbies to the left
and Joan of Arcs to the right
no one feeling insecure we were
all gorge and famous in our last lives
in the glories of the ‘80s you said
“the end is nothing to fear”
I said blow the end now baby
who do I gotta shag to get outta here

and then when it all seemed clear
just then you go and disappear

sure you’re out there orbiting around
wish I had you back now

I met a drag king called venus
she had a velvet hologram she said,
“my husband ran off with my shaman
but they love me as I am”
in the glories of the ‘80s
I may not have to die I’ll clone myself
like that blonde chick that sings
    Bette Davis Eyes

and then when it all seems clear
just then you go and disappear

where's Culture Club? how can you go 80's without Culture Club?

you could add a little "do you really want to hurt me?" to the end with the "i always feel like somebody's watching me"

I wouldn't worry about copyright infringements. Hell Vanilla Ice didn't!

A fun song-had a beat similar to "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

My input? If you really want to say "screw you copyrighters!", I think a great intro to the song would be the Original intro to the A-Team.

Can't remember it well, but the sound of a helicopter with a voiceover saying "men acused of a crime they didn't commit...etc."

    then break into the song!

And, oh yeah! How could you have missed breakdancing, "Breakin'" or "Beat Street"?

    "Purple Rain"?

    "Pitfall"

    "Three wheeler's"?

    Bah! I'm reminiscing already! Kudos!:)

Where's the hook? da da da da...eighties stuff...is this going anywhere? What's on tv? Dude, you need A hook, if not two or three. And cut the chorus to 6 measures. And work the bridge.
Double accent the 1. Do you know what sound you want? Did you pick the right instruments?

    You asked.

Y'all are clever and all that, but pop songs need pop song quality. This ain't no hootenany.

Congrats Chance. Your song got played at 10:30 am during the god-awful Marc Vandermeer show. John McClain commented that you should get out of Houston and take your talent into bigger markets (like L.A. or NYC).

Both men enjoyed it thoroughly, as did I... it was a very nice change from the crappy **** I'm forced to listen to on the FM dial while running every morning.

    Again, congrats and good luck.

maybe this is a dumb question, but oh well. why haven't you made it big yet? shouldn't your records have gone double platinum or something by now?? have you signed a major deal with a major record company yet?

ok, so it was more than one dumb question...but stiil, i'm very curious. one last question...is a 70's song in due order?;)
