Moore's stuff on the Dixie Chicks is wrong, FWIW.

For the chart week that ended on the 3rd of March theier album sold over 208,000 copies.

You know how many it sold the chart week ending April 7? About 36,000 copies.

If you go to www.billboard.com and look at the top selling country albums, the Dixie Chicks are at #1 this week and were at #1 last week.

Seriously, what was his point here? That the capitalistic, OScar loving, gun toting society that he hate so much has made his movies more popular and, thus, bigger cash draws??

Michael Moore makes a good point. People shouldn't be afraid to oppose the current majority on this war.

It is good to see that the Dixie Chicks and Michael Moore are doing well. I think Jeff's rationale of any publicity is good is not the only reason.

At one point a majority of Americans were opposed to this war without UN approval, which we never got. Many of the people who now have switched and supported this war can respect a person who sticks to their beliefs in trying to resist a war that they still feel is wrong.

Thanks for the good example and enouragement, Michael.

I know. I thought you were applying the statement of "all press is good press" to all entertainers and/or celebrities.

    Hook...line...sinker

He even name-dropped his book for you right here.

Yesterday (April 6), "Stupid White Men" shot back to #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. This is my book's 50th week on the list, 8 of them at number one, and this marks its fourth return to the top position, something that virtually never happens.

The only thing missing was a link to Amazon.com

I thought the message was "don't be afraid to speak out because if well known people like Moore and the Chicks can't be hurt by the calls for boycotts and name calling of conservative pundits, then regular citizens have nothing to fear either."

    Thank you.

Reading comprehension 101. There is really nothing complicated about this. I could give it to my 10 year old cousin and he'd get it.

These are the comments I pulled out of there that jump out as laughable or the reason that Michael Moore can't be taken seriously. I'd atleast read and/or listen to what he had to say if he didn't expose himself for what he is so badly here. His mind is closed and chain-locked. He actually has the balls to tell people to ignore polls because he knows what the majority of Americans want. He despises anyone that attacks his patriotism, then he attacks their patriotism. He laughs because no weapons of mass destruction have been found, but when they are found, you can bet he'll be the first to say they were not legitimate or it doesn't matter anyway. Talk about setting one's self up.

For him it's a cha-ching opportunity and partisan politics. He won't ever be able to look past his hatred for George W. Bush.

Yes, Michael Moore is only in it to make money. Everyone else who's ever made money off tragedies did it out of the bottom of their hearts because they worked for corporations and were republicans right?

That's funny. I think I got the message loud and clear. It seems others here did, too.

Don't ya'll think winning an oscar helped promote his documentary? His statements at the AA certainly were not to boost sales of his book, and encouraging others to speak out later while citing facts certainly isn't wrong. Sales increased before his backlash criticisms. His anti-war statesments were not as powerful as say Fred Durst's  but they seemed genuine to me. The oscars alone certainly boost movies that received little fanfare, thats how I first heard about Hoop Dreams one of the best documentaries of all time. :)

There's no denying that they are still #1 on the Country charts, but you can easily see the difference between selling 208,000 and then selling 36,000 only a month later.

I'm waiting for the right wing bandwagon to show up any minute now and call you a conspiracy theorist. I guess I'll be waiting a long time.
