Allrighty then...If you have time, listen to this song and let me know what you think. I don't ordinarily post songs that will be on a CD but I used a bunch of the threads from this BBS in writing the lyrics so felt like you guys were somehow part of it. In the Eighties it was Great First person to mention copyrights or infringements is a nerd. He's also 'it' and has cooties. This is a working copy so please give us real insight if you can. I will also except 'Great song', 'Dude that blows', and 'I wasn't even born yet'. Thanks. FWIW - We have been trying to steer some songs towards particular radio stations. This is a Song was for 96.5, Damned Receipt was for the buzz, this is for 106.9. We want to have the first new release ever on an 80's station.
we didn't start the fire inspired it seems. thought the lyrics were pretty damn cool and went together. liked the area code line and the sunglasses at night lines. cool song. you said it was a work in progress, is there gonna be a longer 3rd verse, that would make it cooler i think. but then again when the lyrics are being said so fast and so much is already there i guess it's hard to extend a song even more. of course i've never written a song so i don't know.
or was it one week inspired? it seems after listening to it a second time it will be stuck in my head for a good portion of the day. plus it reminded to listen to we didn't start the fire for the first time in a while so that's good. basically, i like it. can't believe i'm still up at 7:30.
ANother good one. I'm going to play it for a friend of mine that is really into 80's music. I'll tell you what he says later.

Really enjoyed it! I found it quite hard to make out the words (but then I am English), although I suppose figuring out the words is half the fun. Catchy chorus, and it's a shame you probably won't be able to keep the Axel F bit! All in all, it's made my iPod. Any ideas on a release date?
Hey Chance, I did a websearch for Pulltab and found you guys on the Billboard site. http://www.billboard.com/bb/releases/week_4/rock.jsp It is a list of new releases You guys are near Petula Clark and Rage Against the Machine
Man, I don't want to be the guy that says copyright and stuff. But I like this song, and it is funny, and It brought up some good memories (even though I can only recall the 80's from 1987-88). It would be nice to hear it on the radio, but man, good luck getting clerence from this song. If you had to pay royalties for the song because you mentioned a butt load of things. Other then that, this song rocks.
I liked it a lot, I would clean up the end a bit as it sort of sounds like it just is not ending solidly. What do I know though, otherwise, I loved it. DD
Kickass song, Chance. I loved the "What were you talking about, Willis?" bit. Laughed my ass off. Catch tune, too.
Umm, what I meant to say is, you would have to pay royalties for all that stuff you mentioned. I was thinking two seperate things. I am going to listen to it again, and evaluate.
thanks for all of the comments guys. i hope we don't have any problem with the copyright issues. maybe on the axel f bit but the rest of it is just loose parts of songs, shows, movies, sayings, etc... I knew there would be a parallel with We didn't start the fire and Kevin was careful not to sound like it at all. DD-I agree about the ending I think we might change the verse of the chorus and change keys and end it with a twist...as I said it's a rough draft hence the TEST in the file name. I am honored to make your Ipod list Bailey. as long as we are not slandering anyone this song will do nothing but help the guys from the past, if it takes off. i was hesitant to post the lyrics as part of the fun of this song is figuring out what in the hell we are saying and reminscing about it. Every word in that song has some kind of memory for me and most folks my age. Some of the stuff was probably regional, I don't know how many people will catch the bo bno ski wat'n tat'n bit. I also don't know who remembers Manimal or Friday Night Videos. It was fun, though. The next song we are doing is a cover that NO ONE will know. If you know me then you know my favorite nostalgic movie of all time is The Pirate Movie and we aim to remake the song Victory.
Chance, you wouldn't be honoured if you knew some of the stuff I've got on there I wouldn't worry about the Billy Joel thing. REM had "It's the End Of The World As We Know It" too. All similar, listing memorable people, places and events. And I love the "Ralph Macchio" bit too!
