What is the cause for the random patch of consistency 5 yrds out and to the right? Mostly right-handed QBs? I wonder if defenses/ILBs are aware of this distribution.

It's probably a dump off to the running back after he gets done with pass blocking and the other receivers are covered.

why are most dump offs on the right side though? is it just easier for right handed QBs?

Of course it is. An open shoulder throw (possibly even side-armed) is always easier than a throw across the body, especially if you're throwing off your back foot when faced with pressure.

    Thanks for posting.

A throw that even "the future prototype qb gods", like kaepernick, struggle with is the quick out. Just a really risky throw and the reward is not worth it.

Internet GMs tell me you suck if you can't attempt 45 yard bombs on your knees every other down.=/

Funny how the shotgun hail mary option on button X does not imitate real life. Even the strongest arm only completes 7 'bombs' per season.

As long as a qb can put it accurately in between 7-30 yards and knows his offense, that offense will always be one of the most productive in the league.

ignorant idiots in the media need to get off their madden ratings and view this chart.
They'd be surprised that being precise on the intermediate passes actually takes more skill.

This is a pretty cool chart for passing in the college ranks...

Morey would only throw short and deep balls.

Right handed QBs and right handed ILBs.

Think of this as a blind-spot for a defense.

Cool chart. I wonder if someone will ever take the time to do this for each season throughout history. And see the progression of passing game over the years.

Actually, it's more likely he keeps drafting undersized QBs until he gets one that turns out like Brees or Wilson. And at the same time keep bringing the Jamarcus Russels of the world into camp out of the possibility he can actually play football. :)
