Would you mind lending it to me?

I'm a tad inexperienced at this whole "cucumber massage" deal...

The Texans beat writer wrote this today on Duane Brown, "Yes. It's his foot. He manned up against the Titans, got it re-taped and played the rest of the way. I imagine he'll be hurting this week, but I also imagine he'll be playing against Terrell Suggs on Sunday."

My guess is that he has an injury that will nag him for a while, if not all season...perhaps a small broken bone or something. And that's why nothing official has come out on it, because they don't want opponents to know he is not 100%.

My guess would be a case of turf toe. That can be a nagging injury that can take up to a month or two to fully heal, especially when not given rest. However, if it's grade 1, then some extra tape and maybe an injection of pain killer will get him ready for the game.

just FYI, it's really not cool to talk about running into someone in the hospital. I understand that he plays for the Texans and he's a public figure, but a hospital is a place where your privacy should be respected. How would you like it if someone saw you walking out of a STD clinic (after you went in to drop off a flyer) and told everyone that you had HIV? I'm clearly exaggerating here, but you see my point, right?

Well, if you had sex on TV with someone that had HIV on Sunday (i.e. sprained your ankle)... and you had a job where people got HIV all the time... and millions of people were interested in your HIV status...

I see your point, I just think it's pretty much inapplicable here.

Plus, it's not like the guy is reading his medical chart to us.

He was on 790 this morning and said he has a hurt ankle (thought he said ankle but someone in this thread said foot) and that he isn't sure if he plays or not next weekend and will take it day by day...probably related to that

He's on CSN, says he has turf toe on right toe. Said could be a game time decision.

I think a cucumber massage will take the edge off of your privacy stressing.

    repost of what v3 posted

[rquoter]"Injured my right big toe," Brown said during his weekly appearance on Sports Talk Live. "It's a pretty bad case of turf toe. Just taking it one day at a time, see how it heals by the end of the week."

Brown was asked if he was a game-time decision.

"That's what it looks like right now," he said. "We have practice tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. We'll just see, man. I really can't tell you how it's gonna work out. I'd love to be out there at Baltimore this weekend. But I really don't know right now." [/rquoter]

you need DB healthy in the playoffs. If the injury gets worse or nags him the rest of the year, this has a huge impact on any playoff success. Hes pretty much one of the top 4 or 5 most important players on the team

    Per ProfootballTalk...

Sunday was a bad day for left tackles.

Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady? Out with a foot sprain. Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung? Out with turf toe.

Texans left tackle Duane Brown? Possibly out with turf toe, too.

Brown, who missed only a handful of plays on Sunday against the Titans before returning, acknowledged the injury on Tuesday’s CSN Houston’s SportsTalk Live.

“Had a bit of a scare,” Brown said. “Had someone fall on me. Injured my right big toe. It’s a pretty bad case of turf toe. Just taking it one day at at time, see how it heals by the end of the week.”

If Brown can’t go, swing tackle Ryan Harris would take over.

Brown said it appears he’ll be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Ravens in Baltimore.

he's probably pissed because his streak of never missing a game is in jeopardy.

The one thing that can kill us in this game is if Suggs and Dumervil run wild.

Otherwise, this seems like a pretty solid victory.

The next 3 weeks are going to be tough on the tackles with all the pass rushers we're facing.
