This year, my firm has been working on the System Reimagining for METRO, the transit agency of greater Houston, which will look at ways to redesign the bus network to better meet the changing city's needs and priorities.

We've now reached the point where we need to hear from greater Houston residents (living in the METRO Service Areaabout their transit priorities.

If you want some background, here's a video of METRO Board member Christof Spieler (who chairs the Board's Strategic Planning Committee) outlining the goals of the study.

Then, please take the survey. It asks you to think about the real trade-offs facing Houston's transit planning, and to express your views on those. Please spread the word among Houston-based friends!

Deadline? The sooner the better! The Board is thinking about these issues now. The sooner you record your view the more influence it will have.

I'm actually impressed with the depth of this survey.

I can attest for the depth of the survey. If you genuinely care about the future of transit in this city (regardless of your opinions), let your voice be heard

Thanks for this. The survey made me think of problems which I rarely encounter being a car commuter. I also spent a good hour researching mass transit options like buses, light rail, heavy rail, etc.

Despite many protestors, I think Houston's quality life can be greatly improved by reducing the number of cars on the road without paying exorbitant taxes like Scandinavian citizens.

I just wish we had a better rail line. Connect the airports with downtown and then a few of the park and rides.

If you live in a fantasy world with unlimited pots of gold, you'd build things for demand that would show up 30 years from now.

although in 30 years we'll have the hyperloop so who cares about rail

You're not very smart. The cost of building this infrastructure will only become more expensive over time. Come on texx use REASON and LOGIC.

So what pots of gold are funding the hyperloop?

Why would funding a hyperloop be a better allocation of cash than a rail? Because it's faster? Hyperloop wouldn't even serve the same function as a rail so why are you just throwing out a rail bc of the hyperloop?

On a real basis or a nominal basis? You need to prove that before making the claim.

...and let's not resort to personal insults like you just did. I'll be the bigger man and not respond back with insults. When you have to resort to insults, you've lost any argument among adults.

So this is why you're so much towards anything METRO will propose or try to shove down peeps' throats...

And all your METRO-related discussions will be biased, man... :p

Nothing against it, man... but... why are you telling us where you work and what you're doing... shouldn't that shiznit be confidential? Mmm? ;)
