We've since moved away, but he was a season ticket holder the day he was born and for many years to follow. He knows what's what, but hasn't seen a lot of the old games.
I cried at the end of game 7 today. Reminds me of growing up and bonding with my late father. I will be a mess when it happens again because I'll just wish he could be there.
These will be replayed along with others not listed in the op such as the 86 win over the Lakers. Also from 86 a game against the Nuggets with Hakeem out and Sampson stepping up big. Also a Game 3 win over Boston in the 86 Finals despite a Bird triple double. An 05 game against Dallas putting the Rockets up 2-0. There is also a Kermit Washington special that looks pretty good. All between now and Thursday it appears
Any reason for the focus on the Rockets? I'm not complaining. I'm very happy, It's almost like the know we have big things ahead for our team!
Just a heads up: More Rockets on today! They're replaying Game 7 of the 94 finals right now, and then they're showing 3 games from the 86 season. Cool stuff!
They're also showing game 1 of the 2009 WCSF when Yao went down and came back in to lead us to victory...man I loved that game.
At 10:00am(today-tuesday) we get to see the greatest Rockets game of all time. The Rockets with a young Hakeem and Ralph defeat the defending champ Lakers in 1986 to reach the NBA finals. This game had everything. Fights, ejections, clutch performances, and a shot heard round the world.
today 1:00 PM Hardwood Classic Nuggets/Rockets, 2/27/1986 With Rockets C Hakeem Olajuwon out of the lineup, Ralph Sampson steps up with 31 points and 22 rebounds against the Nuggets. 3:00 PM Hardwood Classic Celtics/Rockets, 1986 NBA Finals Ralph Sampson goes for 24 points, 22 rebounds leading the Rockets to a Game 3 victory.
that 05 playoff game still puts a smile on my face. Seeing the white boy super squad out there was simply awesome...bowen, barry, padgett, and sura.
