I agree, minimum age for military service should be 22.

YOu can also vote and enter into contracts when you are 18. I understand that an earlier drinking age would lead to more DUI's but if 18 is the age of adulthood then that is when we should allow people to choose to drink also.

Either that or we should just compromise and call 20 the age of adulthood for selective service, consent, contracts and drinking.

Drinking should be ilegal anyways, and i think 18's too young for that big of a choice in deciding to go to war. 20+ should be the limit of that.

You can enlist in the military and start training at 17. Recruiters are very aggressive on high school campuses.

The US Army is modern day tobacco. They feed kids propaganda. Brainwashing. Make them think they'll be heroes if they join. Make them think I'm gonna salute them just for them doing their job. Make them think they can wash away their mistakes by joining. I don't think so, bub.

Put your 70 year old 5 star general in an Apple store, what is he then? Empire of dirt.

age limit means nothing. 17 year olds are still drinking at hs parties, and of course once they go to college its hard not to drink underage. I think the rule acts as a deterrent so it is probably better for society to keep it.

I think it should be just be age 18 for MOST ADULT liberties and rights. Minors/people in HS and under do NOT have the SAME rights as everyone else. Kids are parental property with restricted rights, period.

Age 21 drinking just seems arbitrary and erring too far on side of caution. Age 19 makes plenty sense, let HS graduates take around a year to get their "feet wet" in adulthood, THEN they can drink later freshman year in college.

Early high school graduates and young genius elite minds that enter college at age 14 and so, and can actually GRADUATE COLLEGE by age 18, though thats a TINY number its silly to think that they can't handle alcohol at age 18 or 19.

It'd actually be better for economy if there was earlier drinking age, and if drinking laws allowed LONGER alcohol selling hours. No 2AM last call, let it go to 4AM (like how it is in other countries). And there wouldnt be those lame "18 and over" clubs and night spots that has to card everyone. (And they're probably smoking and drinking and drugging anyway) Of course road deaths would go up, and yeah there's still 18-21 year olds STILL GROWING. But fair is fair

(And no I'm not a parent)

You can't drink on base in the states. Been that way for a long time. Bases are required to adopt the age of the state they are in.
