I just read on the houston chronicle today that Jordan does not think that Lebron will be good when he comes to the league and that he will be at best good. Do you think that Jordan is jealous of the attention that Lebron is getting or do you agree with Jordan.

No one has any real basis to make predictions about Lebron's future. No opinion either way at this point should hold any water.

Remember when he said he would have taken Darius Miles with the first pick? Yeah, scouting isn't Jordan's strong point.

Jordan still has a lot of things to learn with regard to scouting.
    Look at his picks:

    Kwame Brown
    E. Thomas
    J. Jeffrey etc.

I think he likes players physically like him, but many of them do not have the heart like him.

    He said that!?

I still don't see what people saw in Miles...

    Other than nice dunks.

I think you have misunderstood Jordon. Jordon didn't say that Lebron will at best be good. He said that when Lebron came to the league (that means in Lebron's 1st season), he will only be good, not great. If you consider that T-Mac and Kobe were mediocre, not even good in their 1st seasons, saying that Lebron will be good is a compliment in itself because you simply can't expect a highschool kid come in and become 1 of the best straight away. Jordon also added that Lebron has all the natural talent and if he puts in the effort and improves himself, he will be great.

Well, screw Jordan! Didn't he have some input in that momentous Kwame Brown pick?

Lebron will win the ROY and MVP awards while leading the Cavs to 63 wins and an NBA title next year! :p

I can't find the Chron article. This one is on ESPN and said much the same thing.

Jordon didn't say James won't be good. He just said he will probably have an adjustment period at 1st like other highschool kids (remember Kobe's 1st season) but if he works hard, he will be good. I think Jordon just pretty much stated the obvious, not showed any jealousy at all. He's said similar thing about Yao. It's already a compliment from Jordon to say that you are talented and will be good if you work hard.

    http://espn.go.com/page2/s/armstrong/030403.html

"I think he's talented for 18 years old," said Jordan. "Once he gets to this level, I don't think he's in the upper echelon of two guards or small forwards. I think he's toward the bottom -- respectively so, because there's so much about his game that he's going to have to adapt to. He has unbelievable potential. I think that's what everybody is looking at, everybody is raving about. But he hasn't played against competition consistently, college or pros. He's played against high school kids ... You have to give that some credence.

"When you look at the skill level and his maturity at his age, he's definitely talented enough. Five years from now? If he takes on the dedication of being the best basketball player he can be, and continues to improve and accept challenges and not get comfortable with what's been given to him or what the expectations may be, he could definitely be a good pro."
