For some reason, my wifi button on my laptop will not turn from the orange to the blue. My internet works with a cable, but physically cannot go from the orange (wifi off) to blue (wifi on). Any advice?
Start>Run> and then type ncpa.cpl you should see your wireless adapter there. Does it have a triangle on it? Disabled?
There's nothing. I see Local Area Connection and "Tunngle". Tunngle is a online p2p software thing. The full name for that is "TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 (Tunngle)".
Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Click "change adapter settings" > Right click on the icon with the name of your wireless internet connection and click "enable"
That's what I had him try. It appears that his wireless adapter may have gone bad. Go to start>run and then type devmgmt.msc (Device Manager) Look under network adapters, any triangles next to your wireless adapter? It may be a driver issue
There is nothing to "enable". Like I said to Scionxa, the laptop adaptor icon seems to have disappeared. The button physically cannot turn from orange to blue. I have no idea how it happened.
If your wireless is not showing up you may need to install a driver for your wireless adapter. Otherwise it could be a problem with your modem/router not broadcasting correctly.
If none of this works, and you're willing to go with a $10 solution. This is what I recommend. It's a usb wireless adapter that extremely small so it won't be too noticeable. Comes with a CD so you can have the drivers installed. http://www.amazon.com/Edimax-EW-781...r=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=edison+nano+usb+wireless
I was able to fix it, thank yall for the help! (I had to go to the bios setting, pop battery, etc.) Oh it just fixed! I just had to finger it in the most sensitive place
