Yeah, I was thinking about Walcott up front as well. I hope Ox comes back strong and affirms his place in the starting 11, we'll see. I'm not a huge fan of Sagna at CB, though I must admit he looked quite decent. I do agree that the starting 11 is looking great at the minute. Can't wait for his first game. Giroud for top scorer? Yeah, I also read that Levy rumour. Hilarious! I am still very worried about Spurs though! Then again, they will need time to gel. Hopefully we can build a cushion before they manage it.
we are talking about them team that got rid of Robben (didn't want him at al anymore) and Sneijder the year before both were the best player the teams that made the CL finals. I'm happy Ozil left, I like him as a player, and I hate RM. I always liked Arsenal (since Bergkamp played for them) so Ozil joining them is good for me.
I guess this is the article you were alluding to.. http://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/barca-tiene-derechos-sobre-dos-perlas-del-atletico-tres-del-santos-2623261 So it was 7.9mill on top of the 57 for the 3 Santos players? Hmm lotta of cash for youngsters. Also, I don't see Oliver Torres mentioned here. I really hope he is one of the Atletico Madrid players, that guy has a lot of potential.
The three players from Santos are Gabriel, Giva and Victor Andrade. Gabriel won't help the team at all imo, Giva is okay. Victor Andrade could be a huge steal though, guy has real talent and plays on the attacking wings. Think he'll be the only one that Barca really values in that deal, could be signed in a few years.
I think it's Levy/Spurs who ends up getting the last laugh. In the end, it's RM that overpaid for Bale (don't get me wrong, I love the man) and allowed us to revamp our roster. Ozil definitely makes the Gunners better but I don't think it necessarily makes/breaks them. Sale of Bale allowed us to acquire Chadli, Chiriches, Paulinho, Lamela, Eriksen, Soldado, Capoue (out a month; sucks). These guys need time to gel. When they do, though...
Edit: Don't know which Gabriel it is, keeper or forward. If it's the forward then he'd be valuable, 17 years old and upside. My "not valuable" comment was on the keeper.
I don't think you fathom how good Ozil is. He isn't merely an "improvement" -- he is the type of player that dramatically changes a franchise. Best comparison is probably the ill-fated move that sent RVP to ManU. You're right though that RM overpaid for Bale. I think Spurs will definitely get better as the season progresses, but they're not going to catch Arsenal. Arsenal has better attacking talent and far better team chemistry, which isn't something AVB has a good track record of building and maintaining. They do have a good chance of finally qualifying for the champions league though. Regardless, the battle at the top of the BPL this year is going to be dramatically more interesting. I think Liverpool will regress to the mean despite their strong start, and I think ManU takes a step back as Moyes tries to figure things out (that team always overachieved under Fergie and everyone knows it). Really don't know what to expect from City -- they'll also need some time to gel but Pellegrini did some great things at Malaga. Chelsea are most likely to win the title for the simple fact that not losing games is probably what Mourinho does best, and his tactics, however ugly, will help them survive upset challenges and salvage points when he needs to against top flight teams.
That's an obvious problem. That's not Theo's strength or his best position. And until Podolski returns it is Theo or Bendtner there and well, we know no one in their right mind would even want to see Bendtner on their pitch. I think it's an absolute necessity and certainty that Wenger and Gazidis bring in another striker in the winter window.
Thought it was solid. Chris Ryan does good work with his soccer articles on there but they relegate him to useless, pointless GIF and video clip work of other sports the rest of the year. Very nice transfer deadline article.
I don't know if you live in Houston or not, but I've always wondered about the long sleeve soccer jerseys. How often do you/can you wear them and with what? I like rocking the short sleeve on these hot summer days cause some air flows through them and I can rock them with basketball/sport shorts or with just shorts but not sure about the long sleeve. Side note: not a huge fan of the yellow Arsenal jersey, but that's just personal opinion.
Do you not get Watch ESPN? You get it free with Xbox Live Gold or with some service providers. Most of the international games are on there, otherwise you can stream them online.
Well, it'll be rather interesting to see how World Cup qualifying shapes out. Hungary has 14 points and have the playoff spot in Group D, but Turkey and Romania are both on 13. Iceland (13), Slovenia (12), Norway (11), and Albania (10) are separated by 3 points in Group E for the playoff spot. England (16), Ukraine (15), Montenegro (15), and Poland (13) are also separated by 3 points in Group H. So we could see Iceland in the World Cup. And we might not see England, if they leave points on the table against Montenegro and Poland. At least both of those matches will be at Wembley.
I reside in Boston/NewYork. Long sleeves are perfect for me. I have too many jerseys in red (couple of AC Milan and Spain) already. None in yellow. Easy choice for me.
