As soon as Kenny Smith saw he was open, he knew he was about to send Game 1 of the 1995 NBA Finals to overtime. With 5.6 seconds left in the game and the Rockets trailing 110-107 to the Orlando Magic, Smith hit one of the biggest shots in Rockets history. "I got the ball, dribbled a little, then faked Penny (Anfernee Hardaway)," Smith said. "When I saw the basket, I knew I was going to make the shot." Smith drilled his NBA Finals-record seventh three-pointer to tie the game at 110 with 1.6 seconds left in regulation. The Rockets ended up winning the game 120-118 in overtime after trailing by as many as 20 points in the second quarter.

The Orlando Magic had a difficult time scoring in Game 2 of the 1995 NBA Finals because they kept throwing the ball to Robert Horry. An NBA Finals-record seven times, in fact. Horry's thievery helped lead the Rockets to a 117-106 victory and a 2-0 lead in the series. "I kind of felt like I had a magnet on my hands out there," Horry said. "I was fortunate to step into the passing lanes, read their offense and play well."

The loss left the Magic in a deep hole. That hole became a crater two nights later in Houston when Horry's three-pointer with 14 seconds remaining nailed down a 106-103 victory for the Rockets in Game 3. Olajuwon had 31 points and 14 rebounds, both game highs, while Drexler had 25 points and 13 rebounds. They each had seven assists as well.

Three nights later in Game 4, with Elie keying an 11-2 fourth-quarter run, Houston pulled away from Orlando for a 113-101 victory and a series sweep. Just before the fireworks went off and the confetti fell from the ceiling at the Summit, Olajuwon closed out the scoring by uncharacteristically hitting a three-pointer from the right corner. He finished with 35 points and 15 rebounds and was unanimously voted NBA Finals MVP for the second year in a row, joining Michael Jordan as the only players ever to win the honor in consecutive years.

The way T-MAC was playing yesterday, it is better for Rocket to have him on the court.

    :D :D :D

Tonight the Rockets are wearing the old Red and Yellow uniforms. That means they have to win, right? :D

Seriously, the Magic just played a tough game against the Mavs last night and T-Mac is hurting and the Suns beat the Wolves yesterday. We are HOME and SHOULD be hungry. The Rockets HAVE to win this game in this scenario. This is a HUGE game for them, as are all the rest of the homes games.

Once again (like the Bucks), the Magic have NO inside game, should be another game in which Yao dominates if he plays agressively and the Rockets really look for him.

Hmm, is it just me, or do Yao and Steve look very different between the red retro jerseys and white retro jerseys?

Ok, the rockets are in a must win situaion. Phoenix and the rockets have tough schedules but phoenix doesnt look like they are gonna give up anytime soon. Phoenix is actually favored 3:1 to make it to the playoffs. All i have to say is, go rockets.

Because T-mac is playing awesome this year. Here is his stats

YEAR TEAM G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    02-03 ORL 70 69 39.7 .460 .385 .797 1.60 4.80 6.50 5.6 1.69 .79 2.63 2.20 32.1

If T-mac is not healthy or does not play...this is a sure win for the Rockets.

I feel like a traitor...gotta root for the Lakers (*shudders*) tonight. Gotta hope they play like they have been lately. Phoenix coming off a game last night, playing at LA, it looks good for a Phoenix loss. Damn, also gotta root for Dallas on Wednesday. Ah, the things we must do for our Rox...

Watch Cat shut down T-Mac like he did Iverson...I've always said Cat was one of the better on the ball defenders in the league, but does anyone listen to me?? And his bursitis crap isn't an excuse, he scored 20-something pts on near 50% shooting vs. Kings today.
