It has struck me recently how some posters seem inexplicably linked to other posters, even if it's because of their being polar opposites. I have tried to figure some of them out, but have decided instead to enjoy them, and want to start a discussion of ones who stick out to you...with a few simple rules.

    1) Please don't be anything more than cheerfully critical...this is not a venue for The Airing of Grievances...

    2) Please give something of an explanation for each pairing...ie, because they seem so opposite, the idea of them being a 'couple' seems funny, because they seem to be so similar that you mistake them for each other, etc.

    3) Please remember that this is for fun, and is not meant to reflect 'couple' couples, any more than Mathau and Lemon were a 'couple' couple...not that there's anthing wrong with that...just not what this is about. ( I'm going for the Seinfeld cliche record)...and no trying to hit on the few female posters...if you link them with anyone, including yourself, there has to be a non-gender based reason...

    4) There is no limitation to the number of times you can use an individual poster, but explain each seperate 'apiring' individually...Like no " Treeman, refman, sino, ..all the same..etc." Only two at a time, and each with their own blurb...

Okay...here's a few from me to get this started...( Not ranked or anything, not even comprehensive...just as they occur for now)

    1) Clutch and RM95...They seem so amusingly linked as is, that the idea of them having to share an apartment, or something similar, and the constant hillarity of their probably perpetual conflicts would be seriously fun to watch.

    2) Jeff and ref...lol...Politically and personally polar opposites, it seems to me. I would think that 5 minutes in the same doctor's waiting room would be something to see...

    3) Mrs. JB and Trader_Jorge...This one just occured to me...I am chuckling about it, not even sure why...Maybe because Mrs. JB specializes in the underplayed remark, usually but not always meant to be ironic, wheras T_J, God Love Him, has probably not erred on the side of subtlety since birth...I like T_J, I really do, but he is, shall we say, not entirely unconvinced of the rightness of his positions, nor shy in expressing that opinion...Mrs. JB might be just the same, but her delivery is the opposite...

    4) Grizzled and treeman...SameB-Bob and Batman Jones... general idea, but Ihave these mental images of each of them..Grizz the slightly conventional but shades of hippie laid back nice guy, and treeman as the very emphatic zealous high energy guy you'd want in your foxhole, if not your book club.

    5) B-Bob and rockHEAD...Oh, the hilarity AND colorful illustrations...it would qualify as having cartoon potential.

    6) Smeggy and HP...Simply because HP is Smeg's social secretary as is, and this would make all the party planning easier. Besides, I am interested in how they get along, as HP seems...ever vigilant, while Smeg probably laughs off deadly spider attacks...well, he'd have to, wouldn't he?

    7) Manny with...I forget his name...the guy that said Francis would demand a trade re: drafting Yao Ming, andt then told everyone who disagreed with him to ^%#*%$(^$(.... The Residnet Nice Guy with the...er....resident %$($($$^$...( I know, I know..ruleno. 1...but this guy's gone...so it doesn't count .. ;)

8)Madmax with glynch...I;m sure that, if pressed, they could agree that 'day' was in fact 'day'...but they'd each claim that it was the other's fault. :)

    9) johnheath and sinohero...because I want to see them in the same room at the same time to dispel a theory of mine...

Ok, I have more, but will save them for later...Am looking forward to hearing yours...

Panda is a milder version of fatsquaredcow, and certainly more coherent.

During my brief stint on the bbs, my identity changed from Rumsfeld to T_J II, to treeman and finally johnheath. All I can say now is that I am more "imperialistic" than anyone, but certainly not a conservative in the American lexicon.

I’ll take that. It’s interesting to see how people see you based on a few posts on a BBS (well, I guess it’s actually disturbingly close to 1000 posts now  ) but this pretty accurate IMHO.

I think that this is the beauty of this board. I’ve had some great debates with treeman (although not for a while. I’ve been kind of avoiding getting into another one of those because I don’t really have the time for it right now, but they were a lot of fun.) and MadMax and Hays and Cohen, and I’ve developed a lot respect for all of them. I’m sure if I was an American we’d be cancelling each other’s votes, but I’ve come to understand their positions a lot better, and I think I’ve even found some common ground with each of them. Spirituality, politics, war, project management, public policy, all things that many people tend to get pigeonholed in never seem to be able to find a common ground on with those they disagree with, and yet in this context I think to some extent we have, and I think that’s a very valuable thing. Jeff and I likely wouldn’t be cancelling each other’s vote, but we likely wouldn’t be going to the same church, and yet we’ve had some good discussions and perhaps developed some better understandings about each other’s views on spirituality too, so this forum allows for connections in many different directions. Cool.

I say LiTtleY1521 and I. Everytime I see his posts it makes me want to rebut him.

Codell, HeyP and LiTleY1521 seem like the three stooges to me. It has to do with the most posts per day thing.

TheFreak and RM95 come to my mind right away.

Not only do they know each other in real life, but they are so far opposite on the political spectrum that it would be hilarious to see them get into it (and they have gotten into it many of a times on this board).

Also, rimbaud and RichRocket/giddyup for similar reasons as described as above.

Oh and JAG, I think you are talking about that nutcase, Troy Baros as the one paired with me.

I would say rimbaud and heypartner, but the room wouldn't be big enough for both egos.

j/k guys, ya know I loves ya.
