when he left Toronto, they won a playoff series....With Lenny Wilkens
when he left Orlando, they rebuilt and went to the finals....4 yrs and an all-world Center later
when he DNPed the season in Houston, the Rockets won a playoff series....with the deepest squad since 98-99
when he left the Knicks, the Knicks finally got to the playoffs really? 24 games and he did more damage than Starbury, Isiah and Curry???

    wtf man

It doesn't change the fact that it's true.

Oh the Knicks, they used him so they can dump his salary to get a big name like Lebron or Carmelo etc

    lol.

with Lenny Wilkens, like that meant anything.

Tmac had Rick Adelman, JVG, Doc Rivers

No playoff success. Last year was pine riding his way to the nba finals.

with Lenny Wilkens, like that meant anything. Butch Carter? Suing Camby while coaching against him IN THE PLAYOFFS?

What's true is that despite everything, his opponents respected him, he brought us back to NBA relevance and you are nothing but a hater

    1. Ah, making excuses for Tracy McGrady's s non accomplishments (signs of a TOF)

    2. 'hater' = last resort because you know I'm just telling you the truth

    3. Yeah he did make us sucker bets in Vegas. Everyone who bet the Rockets would win when he was healthy lost money.
F to the A to the C to the T.

    I love facts.

here's one memorable series for TORONTO after T-mac left.

I remember when I was a bright eyed 16 yo Rockets fan. I found this board and I was in heaven.

    You were a legend Tinman.

    dude,
i was explaining to the other dude what happened after tmac left his teams.

you just didn't like those facts. maybe you aren't tof, that's a harsh term.

as tmac said, he played 16 seasons and you know EXACTLY what happened in every one of those seasons.

Sure Tmac made the Rockets more exciting and had high expectations, but did he meet those expectations?

    you know that answer too.

Great career and great skills that were tainted by the Toronto game when he gave up on his team. Followed by the brouhaha with management when they were at odds with his treatment procedure.

Don't rewrite history; remember the good with the bad.

And when he went to the Spurs, they blew a 5-point lead with 28 seconds left that cost them the NBA title.

I think the Quitten comparisons are unfair. McGrady played hard(usually) while he was a member of the Rockets. But dude couldn't close in playoff games and ultimately his health failed him(as did Yao's).

Yes, but he quit on his team in the middle of a game. That is who he is. That's why we love Hakeem, Jordan, Kobe.....they don't do that, no matter what! Even Artest or Stephen Jackson would never do that.

It's like a girl who spits, QUITTER!

I wish it had turned out differently, and i think both sides handled his demise here poorly, but I wish the guy no ill will.

That said, I was thrilled when he got here, and I was thrilled when he left. Mostly due to the drama. Love seeing him play at his best.

His body broke down. How is that quitting? Heck Hakeem faked an injury and demanded a trade.

one truly great year (only MJ has ever matched his 02/3 stats), a complete failure to capitalise on talent, followed by breaking down the remainder.

This is exactly my thoughts. EXACTLY.

I was actually hoping for him to get a ring with the Spurs.

Many more good memories than bad.

Thanks, Tmac, for the excitement you brought to the Yao years.

Nope. No. Uh-uh. Not true. No way, no how. Check the footage, check Clutch's damning writeup of the fiasco. This was not injury. That's a cop-out. He just up and quit on the team in the middle of a game.

    That's his legacy in Houston.
