I wonder when Dwight will demand that Harden be muzzled and his beard be shaved.

Lakers are trying to save face and looking pathetic in the process. Dwight is a rocket, let it go and move on!

I could imagine that Dwight was tired of hearing Kobe talk noise and I can see him saying that Kobe needs to cool it. It's not that unrealistic really. "Demanding" is probably liberal usage...but the basic point is pretty clear. Dwight wasn't happy, Kobe is an a-hole... So be it

Does it matter anymore? DH12 is a Rocket for the next 4+years and saw an opportunity to join a young team on the rise with sky-high potential while escaping the remnants of Kobe's ego-driven disaster team, a team so overrun by bad, absurdly overpaid contracts to players who were once great, or almost were great, or could have been great, or never were great they cant afford to even be mediocre now.

Sickeningly overpaid Kobe and the all-star C he demanded to have so that he would stop threatening to leave every season until he got another player who could carry the team to a title while he took bad shots and expanded his arrogance. Kobe and Gasol make up the most undeserving, overpaid duo in league history. They won titles a few years back, but you don't see Lebron getting $30+ million per year and forcing his team into luxury tax purgatory just to fill out the starting lineup, while not even being able to be anything other than the 8 seed with no hope of playoff success and internal team strife and palpable tension amongst the overrated and underperforming players...

Of course Miami will be past the luxury tax line, but they are the only team that has any reason to pay luxury/repeater tax penalties cuz they are the 2-time defending champ and are trying to make an unprecendented run on the NBA title record book.

Kobe's arrogance just ran the Lakers' future team leader out of town because he was unable and unwilling to accept the reality that he is in decline and can no longer be the centerpiece and go-to player of a contending playoff team. His BS and ego just set the Lakers franchise back AT LEAST 5 years and will keep them signing any good future star players next offseason when a few big names will be available, but most definitely will not want to go a festering cesspool of faded glory and arrogant dreams lead by a still recovering, but over the hill Kobe who will still act as thought he is the top player in the NBA he used to try to be 10 years ago. It thrills me to watch as the Lakers fall apart due in greatest part to their arrogance and inability embrace and accept change for the better. They shoulda amnestied Kobe and started the inevitable rebuild. They have more than earned it.... GO ROCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howard seemed to asking for the same thing he said he wanted from Houston. That was to be the primary on offense. Lakers balked and Houston agreed. Case closed.

And if Dwight is not your primary option on offense then your not going to get great value out of him however if Harden is your second option your still getting great value from him regardless without the whining which Kobe would do.

    Lol

Exactly. It is a win win all around. Howard and Houston get what we want. The Lakers do also as their fans and what the management is saying now about how horrible they thought Howard was and good riddance. I really thought the whining would stop by now.

Has D'antoni been called Pringles before? Cause thats pretty hilarious.

I think T-Mac is on point with his thought; Laker fans should be focusing on the "wait 2 years" thing. Are the lakers gonna deal Kobe by then if he doesn't retire?
