I didn't like the last play call; you have to throw to the end zone in that situation.

Thoughts on the most important preseason game:
    1. I thought the both groups of starters did well, and if it werent for the blown tackle by Mays, Brees mightve not gotten such an easy TD.
    2. We really have to address blown tackles; so far, missed tackles in the secondary are gonna cost us.
    3. Lol at the 4th and a yard with 4 secs and clock stopped with 3rd T.O. and Kubes goes for the FG after bringing out his starters to run the 2 min offense...LOL
    4. Both Back up QBs are gonna make it.
    5. RB Johnson is fast as heck...reminds me of Sproles...but he really lacks vision: looks Practice Squad Bound.
    6. Our TEs are really good.
    7. #44 had his best game in a long time...he was on a mission in the 1st quarter and they had no answer for him.
    8. Wish that JJ got a couple of snaps...
    9. FOX Sports halftime was terrible..

apparently graham has a hip, nothing too serious i hope. that 2nd tight end is so important to the Offense.

That's for sure; they have the wrong mix of commentators. They should have called you and I to staff the show!:)

Checking out Garrett (Graham) - last play of the half, he got a hip flexor.

Ben (Tate) looked good and he's ready. Been impressed with his camp. Deji did some good things in the 4th Q. We gotta be better in the red zone.

We were moving the ball well. We gotta keep the focus. We had a 280 yard half but need points to show for it. We got the ball movement but we need more out of it.

Bullock - gaining confidence every week. Excited to see his progress.

Young WRs? Matt's gaining confidence with them. I feel like right now, probably the most confidence we have when Andre comes off the field. We have a tough call. Lemon continues to play well. Posey is coming back. We ought to have a good group behind Andre.

(On Schaub throwing to the same guys over and over): Schaub's going to throw it to Andre more. We have confidence across the board.

O-line? We're more firm on the right side with Brandon. Newton is making progress. We're more balanced. Hopefully we get Wade back. I don't feel one sided if that's what you're asking. We're more balanced.

(Schaub): He played good. Missed a few throws. He's had a good preseason. He's ready to go. T.J. was excellent. Case played well.

Pressure from front seven? Antonio not here, we don't play J.J., I talked to the team about Tim and Crick. (The play from them) That was encouraging. Those guys will have to step up.

Satisfied with the 1st team on both sides? I wouldn't say that. Offensively we have to finish. Defensively, too many big plays. We're giving up movement of the ball. We have to eliminate that.

No concerns with J.J. He's had an incredible camp. We know what we'll get from him.

We're giving up too many big plays. We're a man coverage team. Those guys get put on an island quite a bit and we trust them to make those plays and we know they will.

I feel like our tackling improves as we go through preseason. Something that has to improve.

I feel good about who has been out there. I do have concerns about guys who haven't been through camp (with Arian or Whitney.) They're both young but we gotta do what we gotta do.

T.J. Yates - he has answered a challenge in a lot of ways and has made him better. It continues to be a difficult decision. They're both playing well. We'll have 3 good ones.

Case - my expectations is to start Case and T.J. in the second half.

One thing in the redzone, Andre gets extra attention down there. We have to beat coverage. We were 2-5 in the redzone. It wasn't very good.

Whitney has to come back on the field. He hasn't come on the field. Arian/Posey had a good week of work. Need to get Whitney back out there.

Your posts are so much better than the Chronicle, and I hope you take that the right way because the sports writers for the Chronicle aren't very good. I would rather read ClutchFans than the sports page of the Chronicle and you are one of the reasons why.

Just finished watching the first half (had to miss game unfortunately, got it recorded though) and here are my thoughts:

Offense looked good. Schaub was sharp, he's making really good reads. He miss-fired some balls, but there was only one play where I thought he was in danger of being picked off.

The running game was great, offensive line played well and Tate played his ass off. As much as I want Foster to come back, if he were to miss some time to finish healing I wouldn't be very distraught with the backups.

Defense looked good for the most part, a few mishaps but it hurts not having JJ. Coverage was pretty good, nice pressure, and did well against the run. IMO the defense is good enough to get stops on their own, and don't need to rely on going for risky turnovers, and on that long Thomas touchdown you saw why.

Not many thoughts on special teams except Bullock looks good, and for the love of god keep Keshawn on punt returns, not Keo.

He's young. Give him time. He will be fine. I'm worried about J-Jo getting schooled by Kenny Stills

Well I really, really like Keenum. He sees the field exceptionally well. His passes look easy to catch. He is mobile. Has the best pocket presence of all three QBs. I like his calm, collected demeanor. But, an incredible performance against the Cowboys notwithstanding, he is probably going to be number three. But, if they put him back on the practice squad (big mistake) they will lose him.

He is a rookie and has had media people in his ear for 2 weeks about how he isn't tackling as well as they want and then how he is a dirty player, what do expect him to be a all pro out the gate with all that noise?

Dude, if you have been paying attention you will know that they are trying to hide Wood so they can stash him on the practice squad.

I think it's foolish to keep a mediocre returner (Deji) and risk losing a guy like Wood who has looked great in his chances just so Deji can kneel down in the endzone half the time the ball is kicked to him.

Let KMART handle both kickoff and punt returns.

He had a different name for him every time. First it was "Kin-um".
