Why do you go to Kroger's when you can go to HEB instead?

50K a year is comfortable living, especially with no children. 1.2 million should be enough to last him at least 20 years.

Also, probably not a good idea to post the location. In case Smith has a terrible game, somehow costs the team a big win, and some loony decides to go harass her.

That's better than the upper west side... home of the exposed brick wall and the houseplant.

No. No it is not. And it certainly isn't if you are still paying rent/mortgage out of that. Even if we say that is tax free, so about $4000 a month. A nice (small and not luxurious) home in a nice suburb is at least $2.5K a month for mortgage, taxes and bills. That leaves you $1500 a month for everything else, including cars, gas, clothes, food, entertainment, etc. That's not even have 2 nice cars and go out to eat when you want money.

$50K a year is still watching every dollar and not splurging or living in a nice house with nice cars, clothes, food, etc.

H.E.B is better and you don't need a card for that.

Good for her. Some people would rather stay busy and work rather than sit around the house all day. Maybe she really enjoys having a job and interacting with people. Some people win the lottery, but keep their job because they like it.

Maybe she told Greg that she was going to keep working until he signs a really BIG contract. So this is just her way of motivating him.

I can vouch for the OP. it's legit.

And as far as everyone picking on him for asking why she works at Krogers, calm down. It's a legit question since her son is in the NBA.

Greg also has at least one child to take care of. Not sure about any child support either.

It really isn't. Greg Smith doesn't have anything close to a significant amount of money or high end career options after the NBA, which could be over at any point, and doesn't have real high end earning potential.

That particular Kroger is awesome and I wouldn't call the housing in that area cheap.

$2,500 per month? I live in a 2500 sq ft house in a nice suburb and pay about $1500 per month including tax, HOA fees, etc.
