I get why he was asking but I'm not going to paint myself in a corner. The truth is nobody, not even Morey himself knows who for sure is going to perform the best & create the best chemistry on & off the court with the core group. All Im saying is that there are options for a very good reason.

Look, It would be great if it was the case, but I highly doubt this year's team will be as healthy as the one last year which suffered very few injuries throughout the season.

IF for some reason McHale & Morey make the decision to keep a player they deem more useful like say Ronnie Brewer or Reggie Williams, instead of BJ Young, Covington, or Henriquez, it probably wouldn't take but a few games for someone to tweak an ankle or pull a hammy. It would be GREAT if the Rockets suffered no injuries at all next year, but its highly unlikely they get that lucky.

Also wouldn't rule out D-League stints for some of the other players that are even more likely to get roster spots like D-Mo or Jones if they are not getting minutes in the big league.

More than likely though, only one person other than Canaan will have to be inactive at a time IF for some reason the team is at full health.

The 2 inactive spots should be of very little concern to the coaching staff and front office. I assume its way more important for them to get the best possible 15 guys that give them the best chance at winning the most amount of games this year.

If thats Covington, Young, or Henriquez then great.... but I doubt they are going to get the spot over a veteran just because a young player like Young, or Covington wont be as offended by being inactive & having to play in the D-League with Canaan.

That's how everyone felt about Shaun Livingston. But in the end, we kept Jonny Flynn and cut Livingston. Skillset doesn't always mean a spot on the team.

Partially agree with this, all the rookies will probably see time in the D-League until one of our new veteran acquisitions (Casspi, Williams, Camby, Brewer) doesn't pan out or goes out because of an injury

As much as I loved AB during his rookie/sophomore years he's trade bait/filler this season. I don't they'll ever trade Parsons just because he basically got us Dwight (especially if it turns out Houston's a great fit for D12). Asik and Lin are on borrowed time... But you never know with Morey...

That was a case of guaranteed salary.

Are you kidding? We have one of the best benches compared to contending teams only probably behind the Clippers and maybe the Pacers. We have the best backup center in the NBA and the Best Center in the NBA by far

    Worse Benches:
Bulls (who is even on their bench)
Thunder (Lamb and Collison are their best bench players haha)
Spurs (Gary Forbes left, Mario Bellinali, Danny Green, and an old Splitter)
Heat (Mike Miller Left, Ray Allen and Shane Battier are not getting younger)
Nets (Other than an aging Jason Terry and Blatche, Kirlenko is good tho)

Danny Green is a starter. Manu Ginobli is the sixth man. Splitter is 28.

Completely agree. The folks who are saying that the three undrafted rookis (Robert Covington, B.J. Young, Jordan Henriquez) are the likely first three guys cut are missing this point. At least two players on the fifteen man roster at any given time will be on the developnental league roster. I don't feel that you can send either Terrence Jones, Donatas Motiejunas, or Greg Smith back to the d-league at this point, as they've all paid their dues at that level. Obviously you can't send a veteran such as Ronnie Brewer or Omri Casspi down there. Isaiah Canaan is a viable d-league candidate, obviously, but who is your second d-leaguer? It's either Covington or Young. This is an obvious inference that we should all be making here.

Another obvious inference that we should all be making is that Daryl Morey is presently exploring various 2-for-1 (or 3-for-1) and player-for-draft pick trade scenarios that consolidate the roster.

    Underrated in couple of areas.
Could be a decent or average slasher and decent finisher on backdoor cuts.

13.7 in Utah at his best is not all that bad
1.3 career steals is pretty good

BSPN is lagging behind on so many of the off-season moves. It's a commercial site that encourages clicks than providing righteous updated info.

Here is a site that updates rosters on a daily basis.

Not seeing anything in white, but I did bold some of the key players on the better benches in the league, for comparison's sake. Probably could have thrown GS in there, too.

he means when their is no name

like on the cavs team their are only 10 players you have listed out of a possible 15 which fills a team

FYI there are 13 players on the cavs team ATM by my counting, you forgot the rookies Bennett, Felix and Karasov

I don't want another PF who can hit jumpers, but can't rebound or defend at the other end. Else we should have just kept Delfino, Patterson, and Morris for continuity since they already learned the system.

The Rockets are stacked with good role players and they have two guys who figure to make first or second team All-NBA. That's how you win championships. A lot of these free agent veterans added this offseason are sneaky good. I also think Isaiah Canaan is going to be a good role player sooner than people realize.

Classic case of grass is greener on the other side of fence.

Miami and Pacers do NOT have better benches. They are top heavy teams. Allen, Cole, and Lewis absolutely sucked last season. The best time to make a run at them is when they sub out their starters.

You really lost a lot of credibility by boldfaced Nando De Colo, Darrell Arthur, and Cory Joseph. Do a little research first.
