Thanks for telling us, Behad. You have a lot of positive thoughts and prayers coming from the board, and many of us with breast cancer survivors in our families. Not that this helps, and in no way do I want to decrease anyone's hardship, but more for the board in general: if I remember correctly, roughly one in two Americans will have some form of cancer in their lives. Studies show that being communicative about it (not hiding it), is really helpful and positive for a patient's well-being and the family's well-being. (My mom was not good about this, but it all worked out.) Anyway, all our families are going to have to grapple with the big C sooner or later. All best wishes, Behad. Sorry if my blather seemed inappropriate. My wife works in basic cancer-related research. PM me sometime if you want to just exchange thoughts about the science side (or what I understand of it through my wife) or if you want to hear my mom's story (different form from your wife's though).
I pray that the same mercy and grace that I received will go to this loved one. I pray in Jesus name for her complete healing. I believe. I have seen healings by anointing and prayer, I have seen healings by medicine, and by both. Healing happens every day.
My grandma has it (for a few years now) and has been on experimental treatments. She's actually in the hospital right now. Keep thinking my next trip to Houston will probably be for her funeral.
So sorry to hear what you and your family are going through, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Last year my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, thankfully in her case it ended up being a golf ball size tumor in each of her breast but had not spread. She had to have a double masectomy (sp?) but other than that she has remained in good health. As an employee at MD Anderson I can not begin to explain the horrible things I have seen in my time there, but one thing I truly understand now is that cancer is truly a terrible illness that does not discriminate! I pray that your wife remains strong while researchers work tirelessly to find a cure! God Bless
I work for a large national Cancer Care organization. There are lots of dedicated physicians, researchers, pharmacists, radiologists and laboratorians dedicated to fighting cancer. Your wife is in good hands at MD Anderson. My best wishes and sincerest prayers go out to your wife as she battles cancer.
I wish you nothing but the best man, cancer is such a scary thing. It is so scary to think 1 in 3 of us is gonna get it. Health is the only thing that really matters in life. Best of luck to you.
yo man...best wishes to you and your family. My grandfather died of cancer and my mum had operations cause of lumps in her breast. I can understand the pain you are going through. Good luck and God Bless
Man all the best to you, your wife and the entire family at this trying time. My thoughts and prayers are definitely with y'all. Keep fighting on and don't stop believing. She'll come through and defeat it. Trust. On another note, it's just sad to see/read the number of CFers on here who have had mothers dealing with it or other parents/grand parents that passed on from that horrible thing. I hope all of y'all stay strong and hopefully a cure will be found soon.
Behad, I am sorry to hear about your wife. That said, I take my Radiation Therapy boards in t-minus three hours. I will keep your wife in mind, as motivation, as I take my boards. She is a great example of why I chose to go into this field. Cancer sucks. I watched my grandfather, a great man, wither away because of it (when I was ten years-old). Now, knowing that I can do just a little bit to help those that have it makes me feel great. Best wishes to you and your family!
