I was watching this show last night on Fox called "The Pulse" and they spent 30 minutes of the hour talking about this woman who was around my age (29 fixing to be 30) who was unhappy with her appearance. She is married to this guy who is in chiropractic school and competes in these body-building contests. Her husband said that he thought she already looked good, but did admit *off-camera* that she could stand to lose the "thunder thighs". The thing, though, is I thought she was an attractive looking woman. So, I was mystified when she said that she had to get her nose re-done as well as her cheekbones and chin. She also got the fat lipoed out of her thighs and got the (obligatory) boob job (in her defense, though, her breasts were said to be misshapened). Having all this done cost her a whopping $18 grand (I wonder if Fatty thinks that is play money... ). It just boggled my mind that she would spend that much money because she is vain. I couldn't help but chuckle when the reporter for this story (who, of course, was very nice-looking) asked her plastic surgeon this question: "Doesn't this send the wrong message? Isn't what is on the inside that counts compared to the outside?" The plastic surgeon's response was something like this: "And you being in television are asking this question?" The reporter then said to the audience, "Ouch! I could have seen that one coming from a mile away!" The end result is that after going through 9 hours of hell and 3 weeks of pain and swelling, this woman does look very good. Her husband (who she was so afraid of losing to another woman because of her "crappy" looks) is now more affectionate with her...*hmmmmm* But I still didn't think that she looked that bad to begin with and certainly not to the point of having to spend $18 grand. I am not a big fan of this. I think it is taking an easy way out (mainly with the liposuction). Maybe exercising doesn't work for everyone but I get the feeling that these people are too lazy to try it. We live in a society today where everyone wants a "quick-fix." As someone who works out over an hour a day 4 days a week, I am very proud of myself for changing my body to the way that I want it and for the strength that I have gained. Sure, it would have been easy to take creatin, hydroxy cuts, and other stuff like that, even steroids, but I think that is cheating. It makes it more worthwhile when you do it the old-fashioned way. Getting a liposuction or having your stomach removed (?) like Carnie Wilson is not sending the right message to kids who sit on their cans watching TV all day instead of trying to get into shape and exercise.
Different strokes for different folks....not for me, but if others want to do it, why not. It is not any different then getting a tattoo. DD
I wouldn't have plastic surgery. It's my personality that people hate already. Plastic surgery isn't going to help that. There's a young lady I know who is talking about having her breasts enhanced. Personally, I think it's a mistake. While she might be considered to have "below-average" sized breasts (though I would dispute that, even), they are certainly plenty large enough, especially for her body size. I can understand the desire to want to change your appearance, but going further than exercising/dieting or changing one's haircut or clothing or something like that seems excessive to me.
I don't even have a tatoo or one single intentional piercing on my body. I have always believd in being happy with what God gave me. My ex always spoke of lipo and I always told her to give me a couple of thousand dollars and I would make she she works the fat off. To answer your question, not unless I was horribly disfigured in an accident.
Dude... I saw this too...I couldn't believe this 29 yr. old woman was doing this...She looked pretty hot to me...I kept on thinking "I'd hit it"... She must have had some issues doing this so she wouldn't lose her husband...I'm not gay or anything, but he wasn't very good looking and after all the things he used to say to her, I wouldn't be surprised if she left him... After the $18K, I didn't think she changed that much...Except the boobs...I didn't understand why the nose job or the chin job, but as long as she is happy...
I sense there must be some kind of story behind this. Plastic surgery is for people who are disfigured. If you're perfectly healthy, it isn't for you.
OK, so this penile implant thing...I got this friend who's considering a schlong lengthening. I, umm...He was wondering if they charge by the inch, or what?
Personally I could care less what others do to their own bodies, but the dude who sits next to me refuses to date any women without implants. So thats one vote in favor of plastic surgery.
On my first job out of college, I started with a girl who had just graduated also. She was a cheerleader in college, one of those very good squads with tumblers. Well she was very thin, except her size D coop breasts. It took me not even five minutes to figure out they were fake. The funny thing is, she was just dying to let the world know they were fake but she never did. One day, she and I went to lunch, and she was talking about how she messed up her back cheerleading. Earlier in the year, she mentioned that she couldn't work out for a while because of surgery, so naturally I asked was that the surgery that prevented you from working out. She said it wasn't, but she still wouldn't say anything. All the old guys in the office used to hang around her desk. Too funny. One day she started giving me the pro breast enhancement speech, saying how all her sorority sisters got boob jobs for their graduation, how it was becoming so common, but she still wouldn't just flat out say she had one. I know she wanted me to ask, but there is no way I will ask a woman if she's had a boob job. Of course this requires the classic Seinfeld line "Oh and by the way, they're real, and they're spectacular.
PG...there is one easy way to find out if a woman's breast are fake or not. Make her jump up and down about 8-10 times. If her breasts move, they aren't fake. If her breasts do not move, they are fake. As for plastic surgery, any person, man or woman, has to have a wee bit of a self-esteem problem to go ahead with plastic surgery.
There's actually a new class of women who are in college or barely out of college where it's pretty hard to tell if they have real or fake breasts. They have implants, but they aren't huge implants. I've seen a few of these. Usually the A to B or B to C transistions. The only way to really tell is the full, hands on inspection. If anybody is unsure whether their gfriend, friend who is a girl, or just any girl in general has fakes ones, I can offer up my diagnosis services. 1-800-TEX-HONKS.
This girl was already hot. Has plastic surgery ever made an ugly person hot? I don't think so. The problem is when you got old or ugly people try numerous plastic surgeries and they end up looking really freaky. In most cases it just looks unnatural unless it's very minor.
Lastly, don't forget the flashlight test...Hold the flashlight under the breast and if it illuminates, bingo, there fake...
Sometimes I think it would be neat to get a mangina so that I could actually go and do what all of the left wingers in here say to me under their breaths
Well, it's easy to laugh at people who have had plastic surgery or question their self-esteem when your under 40. (and I wish I was as young as I was when I was younger! ) I have a good friend that fits a common profile for men... low self-esteem and being very overweight. He's about 5'11" and pushing 260 lbs. The guy is in his mid 40's and had gotten divorced (a damn shame), so he decided he needed to make himself look better for the ladies. To give you a mental picture, he's always reminded me a little of Hoss on the old "Bonanza" TV show. Anyway, he got himself lipo'd wherever it seemed feasible, had a neck, chin, cheek job... everything but his eyes. I was the only person he would let take him home from the hospital and take care of him the first few days. (I commuted, my wife likes having me around for some reason ) The guy went through a few days of serious agony. He had everything done at once to save money. And I have to admit that he looks better. At least from the front. The fat doesn't return from lipo. I didn't believe him, but he's living proof. But you can still gain weight, it just comes out in different places. So the guy looks good from the front. He's tapered... and he used to be more round. But when he turns sideways you see the 260 lbs that he can't seem to keep off. It's pretty weird. I wouldn't do what he did for the world. He should have just gone on a diet! I'm a few years older than him and I might consider doing a little something about the bags under my eyes, but probably not. He's made me pretty frightened of the idea! Chance! You don't think your not loved, do you?? You and your bud wrote the song that rocked the world! This is one JFK Democrat who holds you in high regard. (that possum guy is a different story... grrrr)
