Brewer's job will not be to shoot the ball. His job will be to scramble on defense and create turnovers, then run out, and dunk the ball on the break. That is it. Guys, it's the bench. These guys are role players. We don't expect Casspi to defend the post and block shots. They're role players.

His defense was sick when he played for Utah. He was one of the only wings I've seen match Artest in strength. I see he has fallen off since then.

I've been secretly hoping for this signing all offseason.

Even if he doesn't amount to much on the team, he's a monster on defense on NBA 2k.

Maybe five years back, I would have argued that Ronnie Brewer is possibly the best wing defender in the NBA. He hasn't shown that elite defender side of him in the last few years but I would guess he's not just been brought in to play but to bring that defensive wing culture and possibly mentor the other guys. In other words, great signing.

Guess Smith is getting traded. We'll probably get low-balled, but considering we got him for nothing, it's all good, as long as he doesn't blow up in San Antonio or something (knock on wood).

67% free throw shooter 25% from the arc. That's horrible.

IMO every non big man nba player should be able shoot above 70%. If you are a perimeter player shooting below 70% it means you are lazy and not working on improving your game.

This was our roster before the first regular season game 2012:

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Patterson
    Asik
    Douglas
    Delfino
    Jones
    Cook
    Motiejunas
    Machado
    GSmith
    Aldrich
    Morris
    White
    Johnson
    Brockman
    Livingston
    Forbes

Even before Harden's trade, there were 18 players. 19 players, almost all had guarantee or partially guarantee contracts. This is how Morey operates in the offseason. Les is willing to take losses. Four players will be cut and if no other teams pick them off of waiver, Morey will stash them away w/ RGV by offering DL contracts.

If you can't play well,it's not a great signing. Hopefully, he will be able to contribute efficiently on defense.

Delfino was the 6th man though.. More than a role player
    Garcia/Bev hold that position now

So what's going to happen to Reggie Williams? This roster is full.

Greg Smith is going to get waived or traded for a pick. There is no room for him on this roster.

Brooks, Casspi, Williams, and Brewer fill roles better than Smith ,and Canaan is going to take up 1 of the 15 spots while in the D-League.

    Lin/Beverely/Brooks/Canaan(d-league)
    Harden/Brewer/Williams
    Parson/Garcia/Casspi
    D-mo/Jones
    Howard/Asik/Camby

Casspi/Howard/Parsons will move to the 4 depending on the situation. I just don't see what Greg Smith brings to a contender right now. He won't make the team.
