I fear that it will do as good as Triple X, which I thought had no chance in hell of making any money. That guys brings in all the 18-34yr old Eminem wannabees.
If I'm not mistaken, this movie was going around Kazaa & the 'net last year. It was filmed BEFORE XXX I think, and was formerly called El Diablo. Remember that Steven Seagal movie where his wife is killed & he's laid up in bed for a while, then comes back to go on a revenge rampage on a drug lord? Now imagine that same freaking movie w/ Vin Diesel, & the drug lord now named El Diablo. That's the synopsis. It exudes suckiness.
the funny thing about XXX was that it sucked, but was marketed like crazy...its marketing team was so good that it got everyone wanting to see this movie just because of all the hype...
The funny thing about Vin Diesel, is he played in one of the best movies of all time. Do you know what I'm talking about, maybe its obvious to you guys, but I didn't realize it till about the third time I saw it.
I saw Fast and the Furious for the first time a couple of weeks ago on Encore, and then I heard the sequel is coming out, but no Diesel. That sucks. I thought he was cool.
Why is everyone hating on Vin Diesel. He's actually one of my favorites now. I thought he was good in Boiler Room and F&tF.
Boiler Room kicked ass, as did Band of Brothers. Give him a decent role and he's a good actor, but producers see those ripped biceps and tell him to jump out of flaming cars and wear skin tight clothes.
Damn, I guess I am the only one thats likes Vin Diesel. I thought he was AWESOME in Boiler Room and Saving Private Ryan. I know that xXx sucked and F&tF is "ok", but i still watched this movie tonight. I thought it was pretty good but reminded me too much of Training Day, even the only comparison you can make is that both are Narcotics (sp?) specialists. Its was pretty long, but overall I didnt think I was ripped off like xXx. I would not see it again, but I thought it was well worth the $6 I paid.
Forgot to add, but I agree with the poster above, Diesel is a good actor, but has been stereotyped with these kind of roles has been in the past year. Its like Ben Affleck, I always thought he was a great actor since Mallrats and Chasing Amy, but now people just hate him and do not want to watch any movie with his name to attached to it. He was stereotyped with the crappy roles he has played in like Reindeer Games, Forces with Nature, and Phantoms (Phantoms was DA BOMB YO ).
Don't forget Daredevil. Vin is okay, but all the movies he's been in where he's been "the star" have either been mediocre, or just flat out sucked. Until proven otherwise, I think I'll just believe this movie follows that trend and save my cash.
