This x1000. I can't believe how naive the media is being to think that a 34 year old could shatter the standard recovery time and not be using some type of PED. Besides, It's not like Kobe doesn't have an established history of using shady recovery methods. Even if he isn't breaking any rules, he shouldn't be made out to be a superhero. Have we learned nothing from baseball?
Lol, he's 34, not 54. It's not impressive that he can come back from it. He's still a good age to come back from it, not all is lost at his age, especially when t's not a knee injury. It is impressive that he 's on track to come back quickly, but it's not surprising, given his work ethic and OCD when it comes to the game. I'm sure he's pumping in as much money as he needs to make sure his achilles is constantly being monitored and treated for healing by specialists. He's going to have access to every food, machine, and treatment he wants, for as long as he wants, and at any time he wants or needs it. So, yeah, it's not surprising all that would speed up his recovery, but you have to be a pretty dedicated pro athlete to seek out that much help and stick to it.
Eh, I'm not impressed. Remember Tmac's "rehab" vids with Tim Grover? well we know how that turned out lol. Let's see his production on the court.
The problem is that Grover wasn't a psychiatrist. I hate Kobe but from the mental perspective, he is fine.

Wait? You people are really buying this super human Kobe BS? You can't be serious. Toast. The man is done as a upper echelon NBA player.
OK, Kobe jumped into the pool. Did he re-surface? He didn't drown, did he? I'm gonna go check BSPN's home page. By the way, for Kobe to come back so quickly from this injury? If he isn't injecting something illegal, well, whatever it is must have one molecule changed so that it is legal. But if I were in his shoes, I'd pull out all the stops, too. TMac with the same injury would've looked forward to the year-long vacation.
Kobes trying to send out that he's gonna be his old self again when the season starts but that's not gonna happen.
I don't understand why everyone wants a top 10 player of all time to end his career this way. I hate Kobe just as much as you, but I would rather end his career in the first round of the playoffs than for Kobe to never come back as Kobe.. It's like everyone wants to take the easy way out, lets beat his a** in the playoffs with dwight dunking all over him
I don't understand this argument at all when people bring it up. Just because he works and trains harder than anyone doesn't mean his body is going respond well too it. I really don't think he'll be the same player once he starts participating in actual scrimmages and games. This probably won't be the end of him but he'll sure have lost a couple steps.
34 is pretty ripe for this injury. So the argument is actually "Lol, he's 34, not 24." And he's not on track -- he's apparently way ahead of schedule. That' surprising because of past precedent of the majority of other athletes with similar injuries. As others have posted, hard work cannot overcome basic biology. But hard work plus a lil chemistry... hmmm... I have nothing against Kobe, in particular, and hope he has a decent comeback. It seems impossible to me to see him regain even 80% of his former self though, with all the cutting that guy does. It's not like he's just a spot-up shooter; he constantly jukes, stops on a dime for pull-ups and fadeaways. Just murder on his legs and tendons.
