Remember, everyone who questions Drexler = Kobe. 2 words. Different Eras! Drexler played when you got the $hit beat out of you every game and he took to the defense like a freight train and took a beating. Kobe plays in the softest era EVER! Drexler and Kobe are a tie. Period.

Let me give you a video as a statement that shows Drexler's power on the court. We even saw him do some of this stuff at the end of his career.

    Yep.

00-03 Shaq, 04 KG would be enough for most teams.

Add in Rondo, Allen and Pierce and its a no contest.

You start prime Willis instead of Maloney. Move Drexler to PG and Elie to SG. Problem solved.

I'll add another team- 2006 Miami Heat:

    Gary Payton/ Jason Williams
    Dwyane Wade/ Derek Anderson
    James Posey/ Dorrell Wright
    Antoine Walker/ Udonis Haslem
    Shaquille O'Neal/ Alonzo Mourning

Drexler is amazing, and one of my all-time favorite players. Hard to say if he is better or equal or slightly worse than Kobe. You could make a case either way.

Kobe was a better 3 point shooter - and that gives him a slight edge as a more efficient scorer. But the Glyde was a better passer and rebounder.

At the end of the day, if you had 10 seconds left and down by two, I'd probably put the ball in Kobe's hands because of his better 3 point shot and ability to create a shot off the dribble and elevate over a defender on his J. But inside the 3 point line, Drex was by far the more superior scorer. And later in his career when he started to hit the 3, he was in my opinion a superior player than Kobe ever was.

    84-85 Sixers
    Mo Cheeks
    Andrew Toney
    Julius Erving
    Charles Barkley
    Moses Malone

Best frontcourt of all time imo and two really good guards

I wonder how Maloney might fare against Payton in a 7 game series. Too bad we'd never see that happen. ;)

THIS. We have a winner. And don't forget about Bobby Jones coming off the bench. What is really interesting and imo "cool" about this team is that they are by far the shortest team on the list. 6'1", 6'3", 6'6", 6'5", and 6'10".

The only team that I see that could play with them would be the prime '86 Rockets with Akeem and Sampson in the frontcourt, along with a healthy (and clean) Lucas, Lloyd, and Wiggins, to help out Reid and McCray.

THIS as well. Kobe is the fashionable pick, and he is definitely better in these key areas: creating his own shot, posting up, and consistent in your face defense. At the same time, Drexler was a far superior passer and better rebounder, which counts more when you are on a strong team. In other words, on poor to mediocre teams, Kobe has a significant edge (at least imo), but on very good to great teams, the gap narrows dramatically, as Drexler is a better team player and passer, key elements on being on a champion.

Lin, Harden, Parsons, Camby, Howard. Prime Parsons would be able to woo any superstar that ever existed. Prime Lin would just be unfair. And Harden/Howard/Camby makes for a decent surrounding cast. :)

Seriously though. These kind of comparisons are impossible because you never know if some team had some over-the-hill ex-stars that really tilt the balance. For example, the poll had Ellie instead of Willis, when Kevin Willis in his prime had an 18ppg/15rpg season.

09-10 cavs would have my honorable mention vote.

LeBron and Shaq in their primes would be awesome to watch, not many other great players though, antawn jamison and danny green(if you consider the first part of the finals his prime that would be pretty insane)..?

Shaq, Kobe, Malone, Payton and Grant would have won atleast 8 or 9 ships together, assuming they were brought up together and were the same age and also assuming none of them would have left the team in free agency or trade.
