So... when do we do the respectable thing and take Humber's pitching career behind the barn and put it down? Dude is done.
No one can take that from him... but he is just terrible "now". He doesn't deserve to be on a major league roster and he has proved it every time he steps out onto the field. He didn't even do that well in the minors while he was there this year. Which leads me to the same question I have been asking all year... why is Stoffel still in AAA? He has a respectable ERA. He has given up just one homer in over 50 innings... he deserves a chance more than Humber. He has blown his time and again. Perhaps it is an overreaction, but each day that Humber remains in the orange and blue is a day too many.
I literally just got out of the shower and clicked refresh...and although I laughed because Im not surprised, it still pisses me off. wtf.
Yawn. I'll probably get a neg rep for even bringing up a Keith Law tweet. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/ARankin11">@ARankin11</a> sorry, I don't do homerism. The guy has walked as many as he's struck out.</p>— keithlaw (@keithlaw) <a href="https://twitter.com/keithlaw/statuses/367862950797004800">August 15, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
At what point do we start to wonder if Porter is making poor decisions enough to hurt the team. I mean, I want the first pick as much as anyone, but the love of Ambriz and playing Humber tonight is just odd. Once again, this is not a smear campaign... I just wonder why the hell someone would pitch Humber in a close game. Almost no relief experience and sucks at any form of pitching any way. Hell, some of his starts could have been considered short relief.
