This is incorrect. The Rockets must send one of: A) Their own pick, B) A pick within 2 of their own, or C) Any pick in the top 13 to Memphis to complete the Francis trade.
>>>5. Good hard blow to SF and Cat's ego Heh heh... It makes you wonder about the title, "Franchise." Does it mean he's good enough to lead us to the playoffs? Guess not. Gotta love that UGLY BALL we play. The whole league knows we play it; they talk about it every game. When will our team catch clue? Ugly playground ball DOES NOT WORK!
Anybody who wants the Rockets to miss the playoffs is a complete and utter moron. What have we been waiting 4 years for? Why do we watch everygame even when we are down 30? Why do we spend so much time b****ing and moaningon this board? Its to get the sweet taste of postseason basketball.
The spank is weak, man. I think the following are more moronic: 1. Wait for ANOTHER 4 years (or in your mind, one more year?). 2. Spend more time next year and the year after on this board copying and pasting the sentences such as " play team ball, please! ur ****head! ", "pass the damn ball to Yao, your idiot", " trade Francis", "Trade Yao", "Fire Larry", " Fire Rudy", " Sell the team", "don't lose hope, we will get in. we are not out yet", "(you add here)". On another note, I don't know about other teams, but Rockets has a perennial all star in Francis, an outstanding NO. 1 pick, a very good SG in Cat, a PF worth three first-round picks in Eddie, a seasoned coach, and still seems like going nowhere. It's time to shake up the system.
Agreed! Even if we knew the pick would be a lottery pick -- with a whopping 0.5% of being number 1 -- we would all make that trade again. Even if you're itching to trade Steve, you cannot posibly regret this trade. Now some of the other trades...
My point about the Francis trade is that the Rockets (myself included) must of thought that they would not be giving-up a lotto pick as the first round pick for Francis (they had a four-year window to give-up the pick). They were thinking that the pick would be a low first rounder, because the Rockets would be winning at least 50 games by now. The realty is that the Rockets will be lucky to make .500, even with Yao.
