I parked my car near my home. Without telling me they did some painting in the building next to my car. They dripped some paint on my car. How do I go about getting them to get my car repainted?
Have you told the contractor about what his crew did? You might have a nicer contractor who will take care of you without getting into a game of chicken.
Agreed with LCA. I would ask the contractor to rectify the situation. And by rectify, I don't mean demanding them to repaint your car. If its a water based paint, you can probably buff it out.
Don't wait for the dripped paint to bake in the sun for a few days. Your car most likely does not need to be repainted. They should have wrapped any cars they could not find the owners for in plastic. Try to get them to detail the exterior of the car so you don't find more paint later.
Chill out. Just go and get some rubbing compund and see if it comes off. It should. If not, then see about having the contractor pay for it to be buffed out.
Your car definitely will not need to be repainted, but whatever you do, DO NOT try and remove yourself. Don't buff it, don't compound it, don't use any sort of remover. Contact an over-spray removal company. They have specific products that will remove the paint w/ ease.
