Mo plays nice but I got to admit, he cant rebound. This team lacks in rebounds, when you got a 37 year old guy leading in rebounding with 5 something, that is embarresing.

Cat, if the Hornets hadn't gotten all those offensive rebounds, the game wouldn't have needed clutch shots - it wouldn't have been that close!

    Cat,

I understand that OFFENSIVELY Mo has been a superb addition to this team and with time will only get even better offensively but in basketball unlike Football you have to play both Offense and Defense and Defense includes Rebounding. I am not disrespecting his offensive game, merely saying that he is hopeless rebounder, which is a skill most big players need and have that he has missing.

One thing that mo did bad was just sit and watch baron davis score inside. You cant let him run in and just stand there. At least try to block or hurt him.

Its early now for Mo, he is learning. But trust me, no team will give him big cash if he plays like this.

ON THE OTHER NOTE : Man I just got to feel bad for the comments on Jason Collier. He has been such a good player, he impresses me with his knowledge of the game. He understands where to go on plays. He has become one of my favorite rockets. That is why I am now the vice president of his fan club now. Soon I will be running for president , watch out CAT!

Did you happen to notice all the offensive rebounds that Davis got over Moochie and Kenny during that stretch? Or the ones that Coleman got over Hakeem? Over Mash over Shandon? Nope. Happened to everyone, as it does with every team in the NBA. But as is typical here we single out the one guy we want to blame. To make my point clearer, the Hornets starting frontcourt had a combined 8 offensive rebounds. The Raptors starting frontcourt had a combined 8 offensive rebounds against supposedly the greatest frontcourt in the NBA- Pippen, Wallace, and Kemp/Davis. No difference at all.

Cat, step back, look at the box score, look at Mo's season stats, use your knowledge of typical basketball position stats........I think you'll see that our complaints are MORE than justified. Why fight it? You his agent?

Cat I love your positivity, but Mo isn't performing on the boards, no excuse no, he individually doesn't grap enough boards.

Dream, Walt, Steve, Cat, and Shandon all have more boards per game than Walt.

No argument from me. I could care less what the box score says. Don't throw some numbers at me. I judge by the results of how the team is impacted on the floor, and how they look at the time. Championships aren't built on having the best fantasy team, or numbers. So many of you act like they are at times.

Yeah, I'm David Falk. [IMG] Now in a month supposedly I've gone from being Collier's agent to now Mo's agent. Who's next in line for me? [IMG]

    Agent Cat,

Based on his current production trends, how big a contract do you expect your client to sign next summer?

    Mango,

On the serious side, I've thought since we got Mo that long-term he's worth approx. 4-6 million per season. I still think around the same range.

Wasn't there an offer of equal or better than that from Toronto this past summer?

Going to be hard to settle for a mid-price deal when he has dreams of big $$$$$.

Mo never asked for the max, and never said himself that that was what he was after. His agent David Falk has one of the hot young talents in the NBA, and tried to get the max for his client as any agent would. It just didn't workout, and you are kidding yourself if you still think Falk/Taylor think Mo will get the max next summer. That is not what they are thinking. Mo is good, but unless he really surprises me he's not a "max" player.

Gator, very good correlation to success and field goal percentage. Believe it or not the Floridian jargon connects my belief that MO's rebounding can be acceptable at below average when you consider his offensive ability. Good Team Rebounding is important but Good Team Shooting is of greater value. Your objective data supports this statement. I believe we can have a succesful foundation with this set up when you further consider the above average rebounding ability from the guards.

Guys, can we offer a contract to Mo that's something like 5.5mill, but goes up to 8.5mill if he grabs more than 7.5 boards a game?

like tim hardaway has this thing where if he weighs less than what they told him, he gets more dough....can WE do that based on numbers?

I remember reading somewhere, back when Mo was leaning towards Seattle, that some scouts believed that due to his quickness and offensive minded game, Mo could be suited to play SF.

I wonder what you guys thik about this?

It doesn´t sound THAT far-fetched if you ask me.

    cat,
i respect that u got ure team's playaz backs and all, and that numbers arent the most important thing to win a championship. But, if u want to win a championship, you have to be able to get rebounds. If ure starting power forward is getting those kind of rebounding numbers, u cant expect too much. Its not like hes givin 110% out there either. he just doesnt care bout boards. when the rox won, we had dream and ot pullin those down, second year, dream was more of a monster, and we had othas comin in for boards. last yr, the lakers had shaq, the spurs had timmy and david, the bulls of course had rodman, but they dont count-- they had mj.

    Sane,,,yes we can.

Contractural bonuses are allowed by the CBA. As a point of order, they also count against the cap if the league believes they are likely to be reached by the individual.

In other words, if you offered Duncan a $3m "bonus" for ranking in the top 5 in rebounding, the league has the authority to consider that base salary, and count it as such. But if he had to get MVP honors or get them to the finals, the $3m wouldn't count against the cap until rewarded, since MVP is difficult to achieve.
