[Apple] iPhone 5S

I don't think people are sticking with the brand. Latest reports I hear is that Samsung is starting to dominate the mobile phone industry. Apple is losing market share day by day. This was inevitable.......in fact i am surprised it look this long

 

Am I the only one who doesn't want Samsung to be the company that leads in Android devices? I would much rather have HTC win but that isn't going to happen. They actually make quality devices though.

 

Posted this in another thread but maybe one of you can help me. Recently switched from a 4s to a Galaxy and I cannot receive texts from other iPhone users. I did a ton of research and it looks like a problem between iMessage and SMS without a viable solution.

May have to switch back to iPhone which I don't mind but wanted to try something new. Anyone else have this issue?

 

That's Apple's way of punishing you. Now come back home.

 

You have to disable iMessage. Either wait about 30 days, or find someone with an iPhone, stick your SIM card in, and disable iMessage. Same thing happened to me, I did the above, and have been receiving texts without issue.

 

Give it time. I'm rooting for HTC also but have doubts about their future. My bet is LG and Motorola will chop into Samsung big time with Samsung remaining #1 but not in such a dominant position.

If Apple doesn't snap out of it by significantly refreshing and diversifying the iPhone, maybe LG could challenge them for 2nd place next year behind Samsung. It's a longshot.

 

it's not that you can't receive it..it's that iPhone users will keep seeing you as having iMessage and that will time out. it should eventually send it as a texts though.

is anyone actually looking forward to the event? same design for the hardware. crayon coloring for the OS.

I still don't know why they elongated the screen with the 5 instead of making it a normal resolution screen. e.g. 4.3" 720p.

My iPhone 4S is still solid, and iOS 7 runs like butter on it. Not sure if I am going to upgrade to the 5S just yet. Then again we'll see.

 

I'm at a crossroads. I'm out of contract, but was considering getting a 4S off of ebay to stay out of contract....but I basically have to commit to one ecosystem or another.

Everyone in my company has an iDevice, but they produce software/apps for Android as well...so it might be worthwhile to go Android for better testing purposes.

 

the battery life on my 4s is terrible now. It shut off at 12% battery life the other day. That was definitely a 'wtf?' moment. I can't wait too much longer for the 5s

 

Will the battery life be better on the iphone 5s?

 

Better have a larger screen, dammit.

 

I like my 5. I have no interest in upgrading unless it will make me breakfast tacos on demand.

 

My understanding is that their research shows that the current width is ideal for maximizing comfort for the most people based on hand size and maximizing usability with one hand. Making the phone wider would get away from that.
