Who do you all think in the biggest ball hog in the NBA.

    1. Kobe - He is a ball hog and is arrogant about it. No one should be the leading scorer is Shaq is on their team.
    2. Iverson - The only reason he comes in second is because he doesnt have anyone to pass the ball to on his team. He probably practices jacking up shots in his sleep.
    3. Cuttino - He is fast approaching Kobe and Iverson. Mobes probably wouldnt pass the ball inbounds after a time out if he could help it. If he gets the ball everyone knows whats going to happen. Lately nothing but clanks!

Kobe- Easily the biggest. When you got a dude like Shaq sitting on the blocks with NO ONE in the WORLD who can stop him, you don't freeze him out. Kobe's usually a great shooter, but damn, SHAQ? It's like Drexler refusing to pass to Hakeem when he was still the Dream!

Iverson- Where else is PHI gonna get steady O? Him I can understand....

Cat- I don't know his game well enough.

Stackhouse- His name is all I need to say. DET is a poor man's Sixers and Stack is a poor man's Ivy....

Walker- Can ya ease up a bit on the threes? He's too big and too full of potential on the blocks to be tossing that many threes.

Carter- He refuses to pass, even to competent mid-range shooters in Davis and Oak.

    Dean:

I agree that Stephon and Gary take a lot of shots, but how can you call them ball hogs?

Who is on their teams that should be getting touches? Van Horn has been out all year and no one else can shoot, so it's up to Marbury.

The only competent scorers on SEA other than are Lewis, Patterson, and Barry. Lewis and Patterson get all their points on dunks from GP's assists and Barry is a role player who can't really be depended upon.

Plus, GP is second or third in asts and that hardly makes one a ball hog....

Mobley has NOTHING on Marbury, Kobe, Antoine Walker, Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, and Larry Hughes. And Marbury has plenty of weapons, Kenyon Martin, Keith Van Horn, Kendall Gill, there is no reason that he should be taking that many shots.

    Stackhouse.

By the way, Dean, your list of five players together average 5.7 ast/gm.

Surprised to see a couple of people actually agree with me: Jerry Brickhouse is the biggest hog in the game. No way a guy shooting 41% should be leading the league in shot attempts. No wonder Detroit sucks.

    Larry Hughes

Iverson, Carter, and Stackhouse have to shoot as much as they do for their teams to win-- the teams counts on them. Kobe is a ballhog, but he shoots a good percentage.

Larry Hughes has them all beat. Here's a guy who isn't even the top option on his own team (Antawn Jamison) who continually shoots bad shots such as fadeaways when doubled, etc. He shoots 37% too.

Only 37%? I guess the 76ers are looking pretty smart right now.

Stackhouse isn't really a baghog, look at last year, he deferred to Grant Hill as premier option, he only shoots a lot now because there's no other solid offensive threat.
Using that same logic, one would have to label Kobe a ballhog, simply because he waves teammates away and, at times, refuses to post Shaq-fu (last years MVP).
Larry Hughes is also a very solid contender as a ballhog, and he shoots very poorly (As mentioned above!)
Patrick Ewing is a darkhorse as a ballhog, he doesn't give that rock up very much when he gets it now! One can bet that he's going to try his luck on most occasions that he receives the ball.....
