I doubt the credibility of that blackboard. The entire team shot nearly 90% in practice over something like 19,000 FTs, impossible.
LOL. It takes someone like you Meh to (correctly) point out that my simplistic view of basketball fails to comprehend the true intricacies of the game. Well done. But since the answer is held within a larger article I am working on, I will post it within the next day or so. Perhaps without considering the effect of removing fast break opportunities. Unless I get really ambitious and do some Matlab work. Best to you guy.
I agree that Calvin should train Dwight and I tell you how it would go. Calvin starts off real friendly and personable laughing and chatting it up with Dwight getting to know him. He then tells Dwight to go ahead and start shooting so he can get a good look at his mechanics, all the while, Murphy is walking around Howard with a basketball under his arm. The first time Howard shoots an air ball and begins to chuckle about it, Calvin pulls that ball out from under his arm and throws the ball like a rocket at Dwights nuts bringing him to his knees! Calvin: You think this is a fu@#ing game?!! You are costing your team wins out there! This ain't no joke!!I found out what your problem is. (Dwight on the floor coughing) You got balls but they haven't fully dropped yet. See, a real man always has his eye on his balls to protect them. You didn't even flinch. Now what my training is going to consist of is 1. making sure your balls fully drop and 2. Making you the best free throw shooting big man since my boy Yao left the court. Now get up!!
First the squirrels comment in the Toronto thread, now this? Piece of advice for ya: comedic posts should be funny...but that's just my opinion I guess.
Man, this is awesome! I have my first official traveling hater. Goes wherever I go. I guess I just woke up on the wrong side of funny this morning. It's cool man. Don't mind the criticism. Sometimes you're just off.
In college I was a manager and grad assistant at a mid-major DI program, and our practice FT% was in the high-80s. Our backup C, who had no functional range outside 5 feet during games and shot around 45% from the line, nailed well over 75% in practice. Just shooting around with no defense, he hit 3s at a higher clip than the vast majority of the guys you'll find at any random pickup game.
