Until now, Les hasnt had a playoff worthy team in some years while Cuban has. Certainly you spend the money when you on the threshold of contention where its just money thrown away for a team that cant contend. Now that were in the conversation, give Les an opportunity to fill a void by spending and see what he does.
He had a Tmac and Yao in their primes and he surrounded them with Clarence Thomas, Luther head, Rafer Alston etc.
Cuban is a great owner to have. He was willing to spend money and had 10+ seasons of 50 wins. He did make mistakes after the championship run and seems to be kind of lost now, but he seems to realize this and is trying to give the GM with more power. A few mistakes are worth it for an owner who will always be passionate and willing to spend the money for a contender. Also Cuban would be unstoppable in the MLB where every signing is really just about the money.
Les has also owned the Rockets for 20 years and Cuban has owned the Mavs for 13 so he has had a bit more time to get that 1 extra championship. Also your point of Mavs would not have a title if Lebron did not choke is as ignorant of an argument as all those dumb ****s that say the Rockets would not have any titles if Jordan had not left for basketball. So unless you believe that is true then don't act like those idiots by making comments that are basically the same about another franchise. A championship is never given to you and if you win it then you deserve it. The Rockets deserved the championships they won and the Mavs deserved theirs in 2011. If you think otherwise then you really are just an ignorant person.
The Mavs stunk last year, will stink this year, and will probably stink for years to come. Under Les, we've always at least been playoff contenders. Cuban has done a horrible job setting the Mavs up for the future. Any team with Dirk and Nash (until Cuban stupidly let him go while in his prime) would be expected to perform at least as well as the Mavs have if not better. But again, he has no young, up incoming talent which cost him Dwight Howard. So he has done a terrible job of setting his team up for the future, unlike our genius GM and owner.
The Mavs had no business winning that series against the Heat. Knowledgable basketball fans agree that it was simply a matter of Lebron choking (aka LeChoke).
It's interesting to me that just because the Heat won the last two that you forget how much Lebron sucked against the Mavs and how much he was criticized for it. The talk after that was not about the Mavs but about how bad Lebron played. Truth is people like you have jumped on the Lebron bandwagon and fail to recognize that he was a choke artist in big moments until the last two seasons. This just tells me that you have a short term memory and don't know basketball.
I agree, he is a douche. He was lucky to have Dirk. Dirk is one of a kind and almost single handedly one that championship. I tip my hat to Dirk, not Cuban. Grandma Moses could have been on that team and won with Dirk.
So now because ESPN was reporting something, Lebron played bad, it has to be the only reason why the Mavs won the championship? I find it interesting that you obviously forgot how Dirk Nowitzki was a machine in that series and was basically unstoppable. Carlisle absolutely coached circles around Spoelstra. The Mavs were just the better team in the playoffs. They got hot at the right time and there veteran leadership won that series. The defensive scheme for how to handle Lebron was genius. If you did not notice that then you are not much of a basketball mind. You can sit there and quote bull**** from ESPN analysts (who on this very board are dismissed as nothing more then analyst pushing whatever agenda gets them ratings) all you want, but that does not make there invalid points truth. Well the fact is that Houston won 2 rings and they deserved it. They had Olajawon, arguably the best center to ever play, and they won 2 rings with him. Anyone who tries to take that away from them because Jordan did not play in one year and then came back "not in the groove" the next year, is just a piece of **** to be honest. You though are even worse because you are trying to take away a championship from someone because a player who played did not play well. Just curious, because I don't want to group all Rockets fans into the same category as this RocketsWin poster, but do ya'll feel the same way about the 2011 series as this clown? Do Rockets fans really believe that the Mavs only won that title because "Lebron choked". I sure hope not but would love to know if that is the viewpoint that most of your fan base takes on that series. I am guessing it's not but figured I would ask.
Did Lebron choke? Yes. But that doesn't win you a championship. It is literally saying if Lebron played better they would have won. He didn't. Its like saying, Hell the rockets would have won last year if asik Lin harden parson all played the best they could have.

Not at all. Even LeBron has admitted that it was that loss that opened his eyes to how hard it was to win a title and used it to dedicate himself to elevating his game to a championship level. Those same fools saying this would go absolutely ballistic if you were to counter that the only reason the Rockets won their two titles was because Jordan had "retired".
Wow a lot of haterade being drank around here. Cuban brought his team a championship(So what if Lebron choked its not easy winning a title) and any owner that can do that deserves respect. Yeah he didn't resign Tyson Chandler but that was so he could pursue Deron (from Dallas) and Dwight Howard to team up with Dirk. He took a risk to put together a super team and it didn't work, he can't be blamed for that. The man tries whatever it takes to put together the best team he possibly can. Stop youre b****ing people. In the last 7 years, the mavericks have been to the finals twice. And beat and won once. Lebron choked, oh well. He got locked up.
