Essentially, this was Lin's per 36 for the whole season and his ORTG

    14.9 pts/ 6.8 ast .441/.339/.785 .105 ORTG

This is what those same lines look like if you start from December 1st on

    15.9 / 6.8 .455/.355/.782 108

And this is what it looked like after March 1st (about 23 games.)

    17.9/ 6.7 .461/.381/.789 110

Here's some stats when Lin get the opportunity to score

Average Results in 18 games with 14 shot attempts or more:
    1. 21 PPG
    2. 7 Assists
    3. 48.8% FG%

Unlike most players, anyone who usually shoots more would have a lower FG%. In Jeremy's case, his FG% is actually higher.

All credit goes to one Knickabokkaz. I thought this was interesting so I wanted to bring it to a more broad audience.

Yes. He is a very good with the ball in his hands, very good finisher and can create for others

We have a TON of talent on this team and just need to mesh now

Lin needs to be more confident in his ability. He doesnt always have to give the ball to Harden when he crosses the timeline; he chooses to.

This is kind of like common sense. When roleplayers shoot a lot, it's because they have a hot hand or are more effective that game for whatever reason.

Like look at Mario Chalmer's highest scoring games last year, he shoots a higher percentage too.

is there a way for us to get Chalmers, a draft pick and a throw in to match salaries for Lin?

I think Lin would fit well with Miami and Chalmers can bring that championship experience to nurture Dwight and Harden

The correlation might also show that Jeremy Lin gets the ball when he is shooting well, rather than showing that he shoots well when he gets the ball.

I'm not so sure he should be more involved with the first unit sleepyasian, but def. with the second unit.

Yes but not based on those numbers.

Lin is better when he's aggressive, and if it means we can cotton wool Harden then all the better

This is probably the case... though I do think he take the reins more often especially with the 2nd unit.

Interesting, but how many of these comparisons has he actually done with other players? I'd be willing to bet money that 4/5 NBA players' stats have similar results. Like Patterned said, the increase in shot attempts reflect Lin's frame of mind or confidence level, not the amount of inclusion anyone granted to him during game. When he's got the ball in his hands, he either decides to take the shot or pass it off. The game plan didn't change every other game, but his consistency and willingness to score did.

Here's an article about increased shot attempts:

Still trying to make sense of this..

There many things among Lin's game. Example: Lin is very good clutching player. Someone did an analysis, he played better and scores more in 4th qtr compare to rest of the game time. He also has a better score accuracy when he stays longer in the game.

Oh really? Someone else did an analysis and proved that if Aaron Brooks took 40 shots a game we would have won the championship last year. I can't quite remember who.
