Yao Ming has been playing so well in recent games, especially during the first quarters, then its as though he tells himself, or someone tells him..... " Move over, Rookie youve got yours now let everyone else have a go". From this point on Yao Ming hardly plays an offensive game but sort of hangs arround. Why is this so?

selfish selfish immature. I can't stand it, it pisses me off so much.

Yes. But we have so many other freakin problems. God. You can just point them out. Too many. Everyone knows this. The owner needs to wake up or something. Coach isn't doing anything. Instead, he's playing Mo Taylor at center. Yao is sitting out. And he barely gets the ball. And when he does get the ball, it is against Toni Kukoc, a skilled veteran who is quicker than him. God. I can't understand either. But mainly the coach.

Smith should have exploited the mismatch at the center position. He failed to do so.

If Smith was going to bench Yao, then he should have at least placed Cato in. No. He benched Yao and Cato at the same time, helping the Bucks build a double digit lead.

It's their selfish play like that that makes me almost want us to miss the playoffs. They don't deserve to make it!

Didn't Les call this team the greatest of all time or something like that?

If the Rockets keep this up, who wants to bet that Yao bolts to LA and slides into Shaq's spot in a couple of years?

That would be best for everyone. Yao gets to develop on a team that knows how to use him while SF and Cat can renew their vows to each other. :D

    I concur.

Isn't Bucks center fouled out well before the game? Larry Smith seems experimenting various combinations and sadly, a lot of those are really sucky

Everyone in the league is just amazed about how inept the Rockets are right now. Yao might now be the greatest player but he isn't even properly developed or utilized. He is just surrounded by a bunch of morons which will inevitably turn Yao into an idiot too as evidenced by Yao's iso's. Hey, if you sleep with dogs, you shall get fleas.

I bet the fans in LA, NY or Golden State are just counting the days until Yao Ming is free.

and you are stupid enough to actually believe that? dream on.

to all you "fans" that are hoping for this, give it up already...these problems will not last for the length of his contract...and the Rockets WILL NOT allow him to leave. Bet on it!

why is it that we are ALWAYS trying to match up with other teams whereas we should make them match up to US???

case in point, we did well pounding the ball inside to the point that they had 2 centers fouled out. but for some reason, we stopped doing that and tried to match up with the Bucks by playing small ball (no yao or cato) and got so far back that it was too late....

It is pretty pathetic that Steve Francis can't learn how to play with a big man. Steve, get him the freaking ball! I get so irritated watching him walk up the ball and take off a good 10 seconds waving at James Posey on the wing.

Our ball movement is severely lacking at this point. It started off very good early in the game, actually. Posey and Mobley would bring it up a few times and attack the basket or give it up immediately. No letting the ball roll on the ground as if this were a college game and only 2 minutes are left. When they did that, they were able to get easier and better shots. They built up a double digit lead.

But then they stood around and let the guards dribble, and Milwaukee made up their deficit so quickly. Bill Worrell just couldn't believe that the Rockets had worked so hard to get a lead up and then just let it slip away. We never regained that early momentum. When are our guards going to give up their bad habits?

What do you mean the Rockets WILL NOT allow him to leave. What are they going to do? Hold a gun to his head? I don't want Yao to leave but you can't discount the possibility of him leaving.

There was an interview with Yao on NBA.com a few months ago and some reporter asked Yao what he would do when is contract is up, i.e. would he join another team? Yao basically replied that he can't answer that question right now.

Didn't Shaq leave Orlando? Didn't Grant Hill leave Detroit?

Yao can do whatever he wants. Maybe he doesn't want to live in Houston. Maybe he wants to go to a more cosmopolitan city.

So pull your head out and realize that this is a possibilty.

There is no way Kukoc could guard Yao. Yao beated himself when he has not had touch for a long time. Yao has been playing that way even when he was in China. It takes him a while before he can get his touch back. He usually starts well (after warm up shots). If he is benched a long time, that will cool him down. The reason: he has been playing for almost five years in a row as the centre - the real center of the team.

He would be watching, even at defence, if he is not involved.

Nobody is explaining why he just drifts arround not taking up an offencive stance. Who is is telling him not to continue being the go to guy, especially when he has shown that he is shooting so well? Is he embarassed when he plays well, does he not want to stand out?
