Whats Halo called? Its not whatyamacallit an "FPS" I think? Well whatever type of game Halo is, is there anything else like it out right now? I got the new Zelda on Gamecube, but its kinda boring so far. Of course I've only played it for about and hour. I need a game where I can destroy some ass! Anyone?
Halo is the best video game of all time. Remember that. If anybody wants to play on XBC, bring it. mirshack, or rabbi77. add us to your list.
Halo 2 should be coming out sometime soon. Halo is a FPS, it just has very good graphics and a very good AI.
Well of course I know Halo is the best game (top five) of all time. How many times am I going to beat it. No doubt the enemy AI is the hardest and best of all time. I need something else like it. I don't care if its on PS2, GC, or Xbox. I got em all. Just no pc. Anyone?
Ummm... you do know that Halo multiplayer is its best feature. Get 8 of your friends together, get 2 xboxes on 2 tvs, hook them up, and let carnage ensue.
Half Life for the PC is an excellent FPS with top notch enemy AI as well. What do the enemies do in Halo that makes them seem intelligent?
What you eatin' there Luke? Whatchamacallit. Whatchamacallit? I mean whats it's name? I told you the name. Did Not! Did too! You said Whatchamacallit! That's right! Whatchamacallit, the thick rich candy bar you can ask from Hershey... You can ask for it by name Gimme that! Gimme what? Doh! (Sorry, I've got a lot of idiotic 80's commercials in my head)
The Aliens run around and scream. When you throw bombs at them they run and scream. Also some of the aliens on there are scared and when you look at them from far away you can see their legs shaking. It's pretty damn funny!!
Careful with that line of commenting. Trust me. Raven - They are aggressive, they take cover, they draw you into traps. They hit and fade. Very impressive AI. But the strength of the game lies in its multiplayer.
The Unreal series is like it. I think the new one is called Unreal Championship or something like that. There are some more that I can think of, but most of them are kind of old. I haven't tried a series called Red Faction, though. I think it is a FPS with the 2nd one coming out maybe a couple months ago. I have to agree with Half-Life being a pretty good game at worse. Besides the game itself, the multiplayer is great. In fact, some people have used the engine for their own games. I've seen some DBZ games, a Matrix-like game, a racing game, a vampire game, and others all using the HL engine. BTW, all of these are free, though I don't think many are complete.
some quality FPS for the PS2: Deus Ex, Half-Life, Red Faction 2, Medal Of Honor: Frontline, TimeSplitters 2. MoH is only 20 bucks I think. You should probly check out some reviews or rent before you buy tho.
Star Wars RPG comes out in like a month or two. I'd be suprised if they screw that game up. But Star Wars has much bad luck in the past.
Actually on X-box there is a game very much like Halo on Steroids coming out. It is called Brute Force, and the company I used to work for is finishing it up as we speak. Should be out in May for the X-box DD
The reason for delay is they keep adding stuff. They are also taking fan feedback and trying to incorporate some of that into the game play. I think that's been one of the reasons for it being delayed. The other problem is that they have so much to live up to I think they want to get it right or they look like jacka$$es for screwing up what could have been an extremely profitable franchise.
Agreed. In my opinion, they should just put the best product they think they can put out in the market and let the consumers do the rest. Although, on another note, I read somewhere (and I'm too lazy to go find it again) that many of the fan's suggestions have actually made it into the game...such as 4 player ability to play actual levels instead of just 2. IMHO that was the team play in the regular missions was the best, most well thought out team play ability of any game and that's what really set it apart. My only hope is that they don't go overboard...one of the best parts of Halo was it's simplicity...kill all the aliens and survive...I hope they don't add too much to make it too complex.. Other changes in Halo 2...marine A.I. actually goes up with enemy A.I. - unlike the original, if you play legendary, your marines will fight at that level too, instead of getting slaughtered in the first 10 seconds. Rumored civilian structures and people... Greater ability to interact and damage structures and background...I.E. if you hit a structure with a rocket, it takes damage. These are all rumors though, and unconfirmed, but it does look like Halo 2 won't be out until 2004, missing its expected release for the 2003 holidays.
I haven't even played the single player and Halo is my favorite game period of all time. How are you guys not getting the multiplayer experience?
