The only real rialvary that will matter this year will be against the lakers. I predict the Rockets Vs lakers in LA will be one of the most watched games this regular season
Know doubt about that, it will be the most hyped game that week and will be talked about by all the media ppl all week also. It will be entertaining but in the end I think the rockets will be too much for most teams. I think ppl are really underestimating how good harden is and how much better hes gonna be this year from improvement. Plus playing with dwight will help a whole lot. Remember how good he was before he wore out. I'm expecting that all yr and the playoffs. Hardens a much better player than curry don't kid yourself with his playoff series which was great against the spurs. Iv seen harden do things tht only lebron and durant can do. There's a reason why magic, jalen rose and all the other basketball talking heads say hardens a future MVP. You here the current MVP saying he's a true superstar on his level that's special guys. That why dwight came cause all the greats and the king himself anointed harden. He's the next guy that's making that jump to lebron durant Howard's Kobe cp3 Duncan rose wade level and personally I think he can be 3rd on that list by as soon as the end of next yr.
I hate them as much as I hate the Jazz. As long as Lin improves on defense, we should curb stomp them again. And Bogut has no chance of guarding Dwight. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fplay-index%2Fh2h_finder.cgi%3Frequest%3D1%26p1%3Dhowardw01%26p2%3Dbogutan01&div=div_stats"></script>
It's weird to me how much animosity there seems to be towards the Warriors. Why? We beat them handily. Mark Jackson and Bogut are kind of douchey - but what else? They had Landry. I love that guy! Stephen Curry was a lot of fun to watch last season. I'd look forward to a rivalry with the Warriors developing. But until we meet them in the playoffs, I just don't see it.
I dont really think its a true rivalry? We owned them in the regular season. Everyone is overrating the warriors now just because they made it to the second round of the playoffs. They are not that good. They overachieved. Warriors are not a contender, they will rank somewhere around 6th-8th seed in the west, at best. I think they actually got worse. One of their biggest strenghts was their scoring off the bench with Jarrett Jack and Landry, now they have neither. They replaced Landry and Jack for Iguodola. I dont think the Iguodola signing made much sense. They already had Harrison Barnes. Why reduce his role and minutes coming off the bench. They could have used that money on resigning both landry and Jack.
Is not a rivalry, but BRING IT! <a href="http://s541.photobucket.com/user/Deadshot089/media/ynmypzthknaebig_zps6704e1ce.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg400/Deadshot089/ynmypzthknaebig_zps6704e1ce.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo ynmypzthknaebig_zps6704e1ce.jpg"/></a>
Iggy pretty much makes them a Rockets killer. Howard makes the Rockets better overall compared to the rest of the league, but we will have to find other ways of scoring besides Harden when we play the Warriors now.
Warriors will be a better team than last year if their key players don't get injured(thats a big if knowing curry injuries in the past). Losing Jarret Jack hurts, but Iguodala could handle the ball to take pressure off of Curry, I actually thought curry played better as a 2 than a 1, where he comes off screens to catch and shoot or catch and drive. bottom line is do you take Jack, Laudry, Biedrins, Jefferson, Rush or T. Douglas, Speights, J. O'neal, Iguodala? I personally would take the 4 new players. Im hoping for Warriors vs Rockets western finals!
I called this happening as soon as Gallo went down. He was so instrumental in that streak and the second half of the season.
Warrior absolutely went the wrong direction with Iguodala. Their biggest problem was not premimeter defense. Klay and Barnes are all decent perimeter defenders. Their biggest problem is in their interior defense. Let's look at MP of their roster last year: Curry 36 Thompson 36 Jack 29 Lee 36 Landry 23 Bogut 10 Barnes 25 Ezeli 14 Green 13 Bierdrins 6 By looking at their front court, they got rid off Landry's (23 min), Bierdins (6 min) but added O'neal (13 min) instead. Where will those 16 min come from?? Bogut only average 10 min/game for the whole season. For the last two seasons, he averaged about 8 min/game based on season total. O'Neal is on his last miles at 34. Ezeli is now in his second year. Lee is a natural PF who took over some of the 5 when Bogut was out. If Lee plays the 5, who plays the 4? Where is their depth at front court? Do you not see their problem? They are GAMBLING their whole season on Bogut's health. They are literally one injury away from a disastrous season. By my calculation based on RAPM's and MP, even with Bogut averaging 20min and Curry 32 min for the season, their win total came to 56 wins. That's their lucky ceiling based on their injury history.
I want to like them, but I can't. This is OUR time, and if Golden State rises then it gets in the way of that. Plus, f__k that fouling crap they pulled when we were setting the record.
I was honestly envious that they had a better play-off showing than us. The rockets need to prove this season that they are the future and not the GSW.
I wasn't even aware we had a rivalry with Warriors LOL. When I think Rockets and rivalry, only the Jazz, Sonics, and Spurs come to mind. Man we had some glorious battles back in the day. PnR dirty duo in Stockton and Malone. Admiral and Elliot held it down in SA, and man I hated Glove and Kemp with a passion. They gave us fits!
who plays the 4? warriors also got a player named Mareese Speights, he is a pick and pop 4 similar to what laundry did with the warriors. He could play some 5 with david lee at the 4. Also, Harrison Barnes could play some minutes at the 4. If u watched the warriors playoffs last season, Barnes even started as the 4 for a few games. Warriors signed O'neal, because i don't think the warriors believe Bogut could play 82 games.
I am thinking the new rivalry will be with the Lakers. They are so freaking butthurt after losing D12, and no we have people poking them with a stick saying that Harden is the new Kobe. The LAL may be boring for a year or two but that won't last. Any team that gets into a multiyear rivalry with the LAL is only going to get more exposure.
