Dream/Drexler would be my favorite choice, but I voted other. Magic Johnson & James Worthy played in the early 90's & were still at the top of their games. With Worthy to man the SF position, we could package some combination of Parsons (sorry), Lin & Asik in a trade for LMA. Our fantasy starting lineup would be: C: Howard PF: LMA SF: Worthy SG: Harden PG: "Magic" I'd like to see someone top that, given the rules of this fantasy thread.
You don't get to trade those players. Once you replace them with a duo, they are gone. But that is good idea, although I put Magic/Worthy in the 80's.
is it really that bias to take Olajuwon and Drexler? I don't think Jordan gets six rings if Hakeem and Drexler would have been playing together from the get go. I might even go as far as saying that that duo might win more rings than Jordan/Pippen if they play their entire careers together.
Jordan/Pippen. I mean they own the NBA 90s. So...as dirty as it felt...Jordan/Pippen. That's the right choice. That team beats every other lineup in best of 7s. Stockton/Malone is a close 2nd, that's just a nasty lineup. Peyton/Kemp is in there too but I don't think I would take KJ/Barkley at all. The hometown pick is pretty good too but doesn't win over the options that keep the current stars and add top 50 all timers.
How does the hometown pick not do that? Dream played 4 early on in his career with Ralph and a Harden/Drexler backcourt would be just fine.
This says it all right here. That is the reason I picked Stockton and Malone, because we get to keep Howard/Harden/Parsons. I guess some didn't read it or misunderstood me. But once you add Olajuwon and Drexler, you lose Howard and Harden....SG for a SG, C for a C
Anyone who says they would put Pippen on the Rockets should be punished. Pippen never was, never will be, and never should be a Rocket.
Stockton and Malone, easily. It would fix the problems at the 1 and 4 positions, while giving us a ridiculously good PnR PG and a great stretch 4. Stockton Harden Parsons Malone Howard If we were basing a championship based on the starting 5 alone, Houston would get it all day.
Aww man it ain't no biggie. Just some of the post were saying they would get this or that duo and trade the guys they replace or move those guys to different positions.
