Let's say you're the only male allowed to play in the WNBA...

I've ran with the Baylor girls that won a championship. The guards hacked non-stop. Frustrating as ****.

I played against Sophia Young specifically a couple of times. We were pretty even. I lived in the weight room and court at that time though.


I've played with the men's team too. Schooled Jon Lucas a couple of times. He wasn't expecting it. He got pissed and proceeded to drain red line 3's on our team.

 

I made all city team when I was in high school. I truly feel I would let it rain on those woman from 3pt range. No joke.

 

A team? Yes. I played the TAMU women's team back in the day, they'd run us on being in shape and running plays alone.

But individually? Like when a women's basketball player entered a regular pickup game without her cronies? They'd be worthless. Overly aggressive for no reason too. Cheap hacks. Ramming their asses into you trying to post up as if they have a chance. C'mon.

I'd average 20 easy if I got into shape. Right now I couldn't last 5 minutes at that level.

 

I was a fairly decent player in highschool, div 5A back in the day. We played pick-up games around the clock in the summer, and there was a girl at our school who got a scholarship for b-ball at U Texas (back when they were awesome in the 1980's). She could totally hold her own with us. I mean, not dominate, but she could stay in front of her "man", hit open set shots when she had them, generally not embarrass herself.

So in my case, I could maybe be a bench player now in the WNBA, but probably not even that. I'm too old!

Anyway, my real point is we may underrate that the ladies are pretty decent when compared to chumps like us on a message board. But if you took a mid-major 8th man from NCAA men's basketball? Yeah, I think he could be a WNBA starter and possibly all-star.

I have not played basketball since 8th grade, because I was not good enough to make the high school basketball team. I'm also consistently one of the worst players in my pickup games.

I would get cut immediately. Penis or no penis, those girls can ball a helluva lot better than I can.

Now, some of the D1 guys who play overseas, they'd probably be superstars.

I think I've might have been a bit delirious last night about my WNBA statements. I could probably play about 5 or 10 minutes in a WNBA game but wouldn't make it out of training camp lol. I won't try to talk my way out of it now so let me own this - realistically if they had a set play where I could post up the opposing PG (like Andre Miller) our team may go winless.

A situational defensive player. I have no basketball skills but I can be very pesky on defense and very aware in terms of defensive positioning. I used to play pickup ball with some of the Texas girls basketball team during college and I was on their level.

I'm terrible, they would mop up the floor with me.

I held my own against a girls high school center, half court from a pretty good program when I was younger. I thought I did pretty well, considering.

I assume some of the more athletic guys I have played with (Willie Sublett played D-1 ball for Baylor) could probably out muscle those women pretty well.

 

If you were the only male on the team, the opposing women would absolutely take it on themselves to make sure you constantly get quintuple teamed.

They aren't going to let a guy come in and score buckets, if they can help it.

 

I would suck. Those woman are all good shooters. Probably better than anyone on this board. I would be a monster in the low post though.
