I have been a silent reader of cluthcity.net since its inception and this is my first time posting, but I just have to say this. We should make the playoffs, we have no excuses not to, even though it is not looking good right now, but we should. Yeah some may say it's the coach, some say it's the players, who knows? Whatever it is, it ain't working. Carol Dawson, Rudy, and Les can't be comfortable with this particular team for the future, yeah if you like mediocrity I guess this team is good for you. Yao and Steve are untouchable, everyone else can be gone for the right deal that helps this team. A piece here, a piece there, nothing drastic. If we do make the playoffs, we most likely will play Dallas, are we going to show up? or get it handed to us like we did in the regular season? If we do make the playoffs, it will be good for the team and Rocket fans. Let's celebrate, but keep in mind we have some homework to do, if we don't we will be another Minnesota, a good team that makes the playoffs, is that ain't good enough for Clutchcity? Hell No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got to get some pride out of these players, or get them out of here. We need players that will let them hang when needed. I just don't see that right now with some of these guys. Either you have it in you or you don't.
Good post... I was going to post the same type of words! As a Rocket fan I am rooting for a playoff birth..but we all know good and well..we are NOT going any furthur than round 1.. We don't have the right combination of players..we have been searching for and identity and ..you know what? It just isn't going to be there.. Francis and Ming are cornerstones...we need other players.. So from here out ..good luck to the ROX and I hope you make the playoffs..but this offseason..there is some work to be done!
I could careless if we get swept in the playoffs. I just want our team to make it. For once. Any Post season experience is better than none.
making the playoffs will give this team (both players AND management) a false sense of security that that they belong as one of the elite playoff teams. Being a fan I always root for them to make the playoffs, but I fear that no changes will be made (not drastic changes anyways) in the offseason if we make the playoffs this year. We'll likely get swept by whoever we play either way.
What about the whole Eastern Conference? They aren't playoff material. If you make the playoffs, you make it. That means you are in the playoffs. But we probably will not make the playoffs anyways.
