Knicks were talking a lot of trash before the game. Rockets came in their building and demolished them.

This game was a preview of the Finals matchup where Hakeem would once again dominate Ewing.

LOL @ Herrera the Knicks killer.

I thought in that game Dream could have dropped 50 all on baseline fadeaways

Notice a lot of Dream's moves were uncontested. Defense didn't know what to do. Like the comments about Dream dominating Ewing.

Why did we have Ewing teaching Yao?? Geez

Can you imagine if Hakeem had played for the Knicks, what the NY media would have done. I bet to this day there would be an argument that he was greater than Jordan. Ewing was a stiff compared to Dream and they think he was better.

Horry was sensational with the entry passes into the post. Being 6'10, he could drop one in on a dime over the top.

Hakeem's instincts on the block are unrivaled. You just don't see that type of decision making and conversion in the game today.

It was also quickness, he got the shot off before the defense could collapse.

Also the Rockets did a great job of getting him the ball, this task seemed extremely difficult during the Yao years.

Don't forget about Hip hop, not only a "Dream" year in the NBA, a Dream year in hip hop

Herrera was beasting in that game. What current player would you consider the most comparable to Carl?

i remember watching this game.. the knicks had a pretty good squad that year.. they were primed for the championship run going into the season... at the time it was a huge test for the rockets.. and Dream was phenomenal that year!! everyone on the team contributed.. mad max, bull, energizer bunny, kenny, herrera, horry, elie!! i miss that team.. we were spoiled by Dream for sure!

    Think about that year.

    NBA - Dream, Maxwell, Rockets

Rap - Nas, Tupac, Biggie, Wutang, Outkast, Snoop

Movies - Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump

TV - You can watch the Rockets on channel 20 with Calvin Murphy

This could be the greatest year in the history of human beings on the planet earth.

This game was more important to Rockets, Knicks and league history than most think.

-Record 15-0 start, team and NBA record start.
-The start of Hakeem's most accomplished season of his career and cemented his HOF legacy
-Unless I am missing somebody else, but 5 NBA level coaches on the court of which 2 are successful head coaches. (Rivers, Brooks, Elie, Ewing, Cassell)
-Proof once again Ewing was not near Hakeem's level as he was mostly a set jump shooting center with no real impactful post game
-These two teams would go to 7 games later that year for the NBA crown
-John Starks was unfairly always the Knicks scapegoat everytime they ended up coming short. Dude gave 110% every night

I don't know if we'll ever see a Dream like player ever again. Ahh, the good ol days~ Dream, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Barkley.. Those were the best years of the NBA imo.
