My vote for an assistant would be Kenny Smith.

what was the point for JVG hanging on to Zo's leg like that? Did he really think he was going to slow Zo down by doing that??? Zo must outweigh him by 100 pounds. It was funny seeing Zo lift his left with JVG still holding on.

The Rockets won't change a thing.

If RT is healthy, he's coaching.

If RT's health won't permit it - Larry Smith is the coach. This is a fact of life. There is no way Les will fire one of Rudy's hand-picked assistants regardless of how poorly the team performs under him this season.

The guy who, last year, was campaigning for the Warriors' coaching job and said the Warriors should do anything to draft Yao Ming and keep Arenas at PG instead of trying to get J. Williams...Rick Barry.

I hope and pray that Rudy T gets well for next year! Other than Bum Phillips, Rudy is the one Houston coach that I have come to love and adore.

However, if Rudy cannot come back next year, I would take either Mike Dunleavy or Calvin Murphy. These are two guys that were brought up in the Rocket system -- therefore, they should be the prime candidates.

Too bad Hubie Brown is already taken.

Oh well, anyway, GET WELL RUDY!!

I've always thought that players should keep their spots regardless of injury, barring truly magnificent performances by their temporary replacements.

The same goes for Rudy. If his was work was sufficient when he got sick, then his job should be waiting for him.

Of course, if UT wins the championship... I might want Rick Barnes ;). Of course, then UT would have to look for a new coach :(.

It is going to be Rudy unless he can't do it cause of his illness, But if we could get a new coach I would like to see one of the college coaches like Ben Howland, Jim Behiem, Matt Doreghty, Bill Knight.

    I actually agree...Somewhat...

The coach is ultimately responsible, however, he can only coach people who are coachable...That's why I think you'll see a lot of activity this summer to clear out the trash...

LS needs to be more agressive and forceful and be more consistent with the rotation...Don't take a brother out when he's on fire...and Play Boki...

If Rudy T cant lead next season and Les WONT make the required changes then Fans MUST act by staying away from the new arena. I feel sure that Les is going to be active if he thinks the Rox will flop or that his pocket book looks like it might take a big hit! Les wants MORE Championships as we all do, so dont think that Les is dormant ontop of Mt. Everest, he isnt!

Vernon Maxwell instead of Kenny smith-only if Rudy cannot coach. Maybe Dan Issell if we can keep him of the prescription meds-the old stoner....

Seriously - Charles Jones as assistant. Moses Malone as assistant.

Jim Lehman as head coach if Rudy cannot.
