Leach is better than Jones and would've been an upgrade, but not a huge one despite Vonta being arguable the best FB in the league. Probably not a big deal.
Leach clearly would have been a luxury, and any money that we could have offered him is best saved for future cuts/cap casualties in areas of need. There will be plenty of guys that can help our team cut between now and the start of the season.
Why would the Texans use the minimal cap space we have on another full back? Seriously?????? We have WAY more serious needs than another full back. Pass rush or right tackle. Leach has the accolades and a Super Bowl. He's at the TAIL end of his career and it's ALL about pimpin' himself for the most $$$$$ And who can blame him!!!! Texans don't land him in this situation.
Leach considering five teams; no decision is imminent The agent for free agent fullback Vonta Leach told FOX 26 Sports his client is considering five teams and a decision is not imminent. "Nobody has been excluded," said Ralph Vitolo. "You have to put Miami, Houston and the Giants in the first three. "Kansas City is also involved and Baltimore is included in this also."
Fairly sure this is just him and his agent holding out to see if anyone will up their offer, since this will be his last decent contract I'm sure. The problem is that FB is a dying breed, so I doubt anyone is giving him what he wants.

MJD had a story today that he believes Greg Jones intentionally blew plays last year to keep MJD from scoring because it would hurt him in fantasy.
I read that. He now says it was a joke.

Stop the madness!! Vonta wants a multi-year deal and nobody's offering that. He's been waiting it out hoping somebody will eventually give him what he wants but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
