Doesnt this ever get old on here? "Typical media Houston hate".

The Pacers and Spurs both were a few minutes away from beating the Heat who were world champs. Unless you want to look everyone in the eye and claim that the Rockets would definately beat the world champs in a series whats your complaint. The Bulls with a healthy Rose back are legit. This same Bulls team minus Rose or half their main rotational players took a series right too the Heat. I got no problem with thinking the Bulls are a 60 plus win team again....are the Rockets a 60 + win team?

Clipps will be fantastic too. The Rockets by adding Howard would have to gain 11 wins from last years total by adding Howard to still finish......are you ready for it.....6th in the confefence. Finishing behind even Memphis. Just for reference the Rockets picked up 2, yes thats right all of two wins by adding Asik, Lin, and Harden.

The ranking is very plausible in my opinion, any one of those teams can go
    up/downd with a key injury.

I think we are better than the Pacers and Bulls, on par with Clippers.

"I think this could be a growing together season for the Rockets with 2014-15 being the season they explode."

Rockets might just explode sooner than that.

I would start us out at 6th.

i am not sure how you could put the bulls over us. They havent done much and Rose is coming off injury. We were better then them last year, and yes they added good player but we added an even better player.

I like that we are above the nets. (id have them over the bulls as well)

I think the rest is fine for right now. We have to PROVE we are better then the consistently good teams. I think we will be 2nd or 3rd in west next season and at worst 4th or 5th over all.

    (my prediciton)

I agree w/ the rankings, frankly. We look fantastic on paper, but I'm going to let some of the season unfold before I propel us any higher.

    This.^^^^
Question though. Who will benefit most, the Rockets with the addition of DH12 or the Bulls with re-addition of Rose?

I think it's fair. The Rockets are unproven for now. That said, I expect there to be very different rankings by the All-Star break.

Clippers in the top 4? I see a bunch of long range bombers to help them space the floor which translate to great offense for them but, when was the last time a defensively middling team top 4?

I get that we're 7th overall. I'm even surprised that we have that high a ranking with only 4 clearly filled positions.

Will check back around the Christmas holidays. Pre season rankings are meaningless. Roll the ball out and let's see who is better.

Trying not to be a homer, but I think Howards defense is going to to be more of
a difference maker than Roses offense.

That idiot has the Lakers in the playoffs. That tells you he knows nothing about basketball. We don't even know if Kobe will be back before midseason and the Lakers cannot survive without him that long. The only other thing I see is the Clippers being to high.

This is exactly why we care about power rankings before a season starts.

There is no way to know how good the Rockets are right now.... but if healthy, Howard is "that big" of an improvement over Asik..... and besides, the issue isnt whether Howard vs. Asik.... it is Howard & Asik vs. Asik & Smith... and that is a big difference.

    We haven't proven anything yet.

In fact, I'd rather us be ranked lower going into the season, so that there's not too much pressure going into the season.

The Bulls benefit the most because he is their only star player. However, having said that, I am not sure the Bulls have the horses to beat the Rockets in a 7 game series. Howard is a serious issue for Noah inside.

We haven't played a game yet, it's a fair ranking for now. Can't wait for training camp to start.
