has really great potential if they can get more app support. It's cheap and what it offers so far is great. Hopefully we'll see game support or media on your device support.
If Chromecast can cast the standard apps (eg Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.) AND web browser content, such as streams, it's getting my money. I've been looking into some Smart TVs, HTPCs, and/or Smart devices like Rokus. I always have my laptop on or iPad close by anyway. I don't like to prepurchase new devices, so I'll hold off until some reviews come out.
if they get support for HBOgo and Sling box it will be one of the best things to buy this holiday season.
Yeah, it's pretty limited to things like Netflix and YouTube (major things, but still a small set of things). However, they're releasing an API for it, so apps should begin implementing it or coming out with ChromeCast compatible features. The API is really the key here; it'll allow it to be integrated into any app that may want to stream stuff to your TV. It'll really get some momentum when things like Hulu, Twitch, and VLC begin integrating ChromeCast. I'm buying it now in anticipation of that.
Yeah I just went ahead and ordered it too. Google hasn't let me down with their hardware. $35 isn't much of a risk even if it flops somehow. But I really like what they can potentially do with this. I could probably get rid of my Google TV altogether if this works out.
It comes with 3 months of netflix so the value of it is even nicer. Too bad I can't apply the credit towards my current netflix. . I'm waiting for it to show up in best buy or amazon like they said it would but the wait is getting worrisome. I'm afraid it'll sell out and not come back for a while like the phones.
Arrives in stores on Sunday. I'd imagine they're a pretty high volume item at that price tag. I think it would be easy to find at some of the larger Best Buys (Galleria, Memorial City, Woodlands, Willowbrook) around town.

Does anyone else hate their Nexus 7? Mine has seriously got to be suffering from flash degradation. It's so slow at times it drives me insane.
I had that same issue. I reset it and handed it to my wife. She doesn't install as much stuff as me so she has a lot of free memory and it runs much better now. Her free memory compared to when I was using it is much higher. She has 450-400mb free while I was constantly at 300-250. It's one of the reaons why i'm upgrading to the new N7. Better processor and 2gb memory. My n4 runs great for what I demand from it so I expect the new N7 to run very perform similarly.
