He's also gotten rid of him twice. With a 3rd time coming up within the next year

That's what you do with scrap heap journeymen players.

I hope LOFs pay close attention to what you said. Brooks is black and he probably got criticized more than Lin so it's not about race. And if you look through this thread _ you'll see just as many veterans hating on him than newbies and he's probably the main reason we made it to the playoffs and won a playoff series. He was a solider on the court night in and night out and wasn't always sitting on the sidelines in civilian clothes and they don't respect him.

Brooks would probably tell the LOFs that Lin gets a lot better treatment around here that what he did...

Squirming when he went 1-9 from range? His one alleged skill?

More like cursing him for sucking so badly.

Sure, he might get rid of him again, that happens, when you are not a star player.

No one here is saying he is anything more than a good insurance option, and under the right fit, he can be a solid player either starting or off the bench.

And for the vet minimum - dang good deal, for our team.

Brooks was criticized because he was vastly overrated after his MIP chuckalot season for a bad rockets team by a few incredibly obnoxious and vocal cheerleaders.

Less than a year layer he was gone. And it was funny!

If you are going to measure how much Morey values a guy by the number of times that Morey signs him, then this guy must have been the MVP in Morey's eyes:

    Five stints, eight contracts.

Look at WHY he was gone. Look at his poor career decision going overseas. Where is the humor?

The guy made a couple of bad calls, not by felonious acts but by hubris.

I'm glad AB is back. I do not know the implication or ramification of AB's return. What I know is Brooks is back and the Rox are probably better for it, doubtlessly not worse.

And we, me too, we are talking this 4 1/2 dozen pages worthless or so?

LOL - the guy is 28 years old - long past his prime?

    Wow - let's hope not.

I hope he pushes Lin and Beverly for playing time - at the end of the day, whatever makes the team better.

Let's watch all the Lowry lovers in the age old Brooks vs Lowry debate continue to bash him though....I mean honestly....lol, just let it go.

The average NBA career lasts 3 years. It is entirely reasonable that some players are past their prime at age. NBA teams seem to agree since he is only offered the minimum by his own admission.

If you are asking me to pick one that I would want on the Rockets, it would be Dragic over Brooks.

Poor Patrick Patterson - past his prime already? Dang.

We are going to need AB to step up since Lin is on his way out. Anyone that doesn't believe that is very naive. We now have two max players, are seeking a third, and are also going to have to pay Parsons soon. It makes no sense whatsoever to keep Lin at his salary especially when you can get equal or better production for far less. Plus you want a PG that is going to step up, not crumble, or get hurt (oh I bruised my chest), when things get too intense. The problem in moving him is that there aren't many teams that want him at that salary so Morey will likely have to give up additional assets or cash to get rid of him. Lin would be a much better fit as a first or second option, and Asian market cash cow, on a non contending lottery team.

You're one of the main reasons I don't mind LOFs. Because I noticed some of the veterans around here are the BIGGEST TROLLS...

But you just proved my point sir. Brooks actually helped us win a playoff game and he gets plenty of hate. So now the LOFs get to see that point guards around here get hated on regardless of the color of their skin. But then again _ this is Texas and you're probably one of the people who wanted Morey to give Dragic a ridiculous contract like he got in Phoenix.

AB had a few good moments in the playoffs-- enough so I, for one, hope he can get his mojo back and be big for us this year. When he can step into his deep 3s, he's money.

You may be right, but everyone is really predicting what Les is willing to do with HIS money. I know Les hasn't spent into the luxury tax really in the past, but he is on record as saying that he is ready and willing to do it to win championships NOW!

Also, a very key factor to consider is that IF you are going to go into the luxury tax, it's all about MONEY. And one thing that JLin does very well, is bring in EXTRA MONEY, to possibly offset some of that luxury tax spending.

So if JLin is going to be traded, I have no problem with that as long as we get an upgrade at the position, because right now I don't think Bev/Brooks/Canaan are the guards to help us get to a championship. But if JLin is traded, I very seriously doubt it will be because of MONEY and the fact that we have to pay Parsons and maybe another 3 superstar...if Les is a man of his word, business acumen and really wants to win championships, which I believe is all true.
