SUre, every bit the same! Just...markedly more terrible and one of the worst players on the roster. Other than maybe Greg Smith. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fplayers%2Fb%2Fbrookaa01.html&div=div_playoffs_per_game"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fplayers%2Fb%2Fbrookaa01.html&div=div_playoffs_advanced"></script> Seriously, stop huffing paint, it's unseemly.
What..? You implied that the difference between 2009 MIP Brooks and Jeremy Lin is Jeremy Lin can "light it up game after game if given the ball" (which by the way, is based of off...?). I retorted by saying Brooks was lighting it up as well "game after game" (it's really not very long ago since it happened, and he had a season's worth of proof that he was a capable scorer). I have no idea why you accused me of thinking Lin will suffer the same fate as Brooks and get injured. A little sensitive?
What I don't understand is why are people are factoring in Caanan when they consider the pg options. He will have to be something real special to get out of the d-league. Our first rd picks usually never see the court and that was when we were desperate for a star to emerge. Caanan missed the whole summer league so we haven't seen a thing from him. Signing Brooks is huge IMO.
people are all high on is 46%fg and 3 point shooting. never seen this kid play against nba level talent. he could be a bust for all we know. remember when people were pre judging Cp. and he turned out quite fine. so rather not make any predictions right now
I know that but you are pointing to the single exception. And our team was in serious need of talent at that point in time.
Aren't you the sensitive one? I had no intention of accusing you or anyone. I was simply stating the unfortunate facts that happened to AB, which changed the course of his career. The way you and the others are insinuating clearly shows that you all forget why and how AB becomes the AB today. And yes, it can happen to anyone. So knock on wood, I hope it won't happen to Lin or Bev or Canaan or AB again, or for that matter anyone else on the team. Lin has lighted up the court every chance he's got to play the true pg for the team, scoring 38/8 against Spurs, 29/7 against OKC, leading the team to beat the Clippers without Harden and Chandlers. How quickly we forget! He definitely needs to learn how to play better now with not one but two "superstars" who will both want the ball. But let's give them some time and I for one will hope for the best where the whole team is concerned.
I see your point. Just to compare though there was no competition at the 4 in 07-08. Landry was a rookie and Chuck Hayes had no offensive skills. There was a void of talent which opened the door for Scola. Plus Scola played euro ball before he came to the Rockets. Since that time the Rockets have developed the D-League and the only player drafted to avoid the D-league has been Parsons. There may be a trade at some point of Lin and if so then Caanan could get some PT. I can't see Caanan getting a shot any other way except a trade or injury. Especially since we will be competing for the Championship this yr.
Yes lots of teams have had past success with 2nd rd picks. I was talking about the Rockets and how they develop players they draft.
You aren't even on topic anymore. You fabricated your own argument into something else entirely when the original argument was your claim that the difference between young Brooks and current Jeremy Lin is the fact that Jeremy Lin "can light it up game after game", which I refuted by stating that Brooks did just that in his MIP season. What AB is now because of injury has 0 relevance to what was being discussed.
AB when just given the role to shoot, be fast, a scoring PG is a really good fit for a team. When he's asked to be too much of a facilitator is when he suffers. After we got Howard I kept thinking about how he would be a good fit for the team, even off the bench....and apparently our GM thinks so too.
Lin and Bev have NBA experience but they are still unproven. Lin has virtually no playoff experience and Bev has playoff experience against a backup and he still got in foul trouble. So it's still question marks about those two. And plus it seems McHale only played Lin because he had to and he may not care for Brooks because he went back to Lin instead of going with Brooks in the playoffs. The Rockets have 2 young point guards and we have holes at other positions but Morey drafted a 4 year college kid (point guard) who people around the NBA say he was NBA ready after his Jr year and was considered first round talent and feel he can step in and compete for a backup spot immediately. I think it all depends on the development of Isaiah between now in the first month or two of his stay in the D-League on rather or not Lin or Bev will be traded. Harden is already a part time point guard and now Morey has 4 point guards on the roster. When we have no certainties at the 4 spot or the backup wing positions. A trade may be coming.
