Obviously Salmons is just a placeholder name here. The point being is that what looks like a strength early on in the season might end up a weakness due to injury, trade or ineffectiveness. Personally, I think that the wing depth behind Parsons and Harden is quite bad, especially if either of them gets hurt for an extended amount of time. I'm predicting a huge dropoff season for Francisco Garcia, and Williams being cut prior to January 10th. Any veteran wing that gets cut and wants to sign on would do here. Regardless, names like Shawn Marion, Kris Humphries, Caron Butler, Ben Gordon, and Chuck Hayes might be available, and being able to offer a bit more money might make all the difference. To me that's worth it over a 39 year old who has two excellent players ahead of him. I honestly can't think of a single time I'd rather have Camby in the game over Asik, and the Rockets are already going to have a ton of problems getting Omer enough minutes.
Heat are interested in Camby as well: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Marcus Camby is not in line to potentially clear waivers until 5 pm EDT Sunday Heat among teams that have interest</p>— Chris Tomasson (@christomasson) <a href="https://twitter.com/christomasson/statuses/358295154626531328">July 19, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Eh, I was reluctant at first to support this given his age, but WTH, I'm OK with it now. I don't know if Asik will be here 6 months from now, and he'd be good insurance at the 5 either way, injury or trade. It's not like he's getting more than the room exception either way, hopefully vet min.
