Those of you freaking on the backcourt, do you not recognize the strong play by KT, Jason C. and Dream?

This is something to dwell on. Other than Maurice "what's a rebound" Taylor at the 4, the frontcourt is holding its own.

Given that the backcourt is flat out amazing if Steve recognizes that he can score, then there only seems to be one missing element... the element responsible for the '5' in the 3-5.

    Stevie Wonder.

Believe it or not, that '5' isn't a bad thing. As Steve's decision making improves, the frontcourt is becoming involved. They now have a vested interest in the outcome of basketball games.

That wasn't the case when the frontcourt dominated the skills of the Rockets backcourt. The pg dropped it in, and craned his neck and opened his mouth like a little baby bird.

Now an entirely competent backcourt has a Dream that I hadn't seen in the past year and a half, and some kid that actually isn't as bad as every cronie that had a mock draft pretended him to be.

Added to that is a KT that is playing much better than the sillines that I saw at the RMR, and a... well forget Mo. and a Carlos that is actually pretty damn solid given minutes.

When Cato went down I thought that Steve would have to put up 25+ shots just to eek out wins. Instead, the team is whetting the appetites of those very players that we questioned at the outset.

Anyway, chill... and stay on target.

The Rockets lose to the Defending NBA Champion Lakers and Heavily Favored 2001 Champion Blazers on the road in a back-to-back situation!

...and you want us to chill??? Hey, there's a thought.

I agree. We all hate when our team loses, but look at what happened. Stevie played exceptionally poor against the Lakers, Tino shot the ball poorly, and Shandon was non-existent. This normally looks like a recipe for a blowout loss, and it what against Portland, but against the Lakers, other guys stepped up. Our frontcourt is deep. We have 2 guys at center who can contribute, plus Cato on the injured list. Dream, Collier, and Cato can combine for 25-30 points and 15 rebs per game. Mo and KT at the 4 is a decent duo, especially when we depth at center.

Our guards are going to be what is solid on our team. They will come around. If our frontcourt plays like they have, we will be fine. Different guys are stepping up every night at the 4 and 5. We have a nice rotation going. Once the guards settle down, and get the ball to our big guys a little more, we will win some games.

3-5 is not exactly that bad. I was hoping for 4-4, but that might be being a little picky. The Rockets have to concentrate on winning the next three games at home
    Bulls, Hornets, and Suns.
As soon as Francis realizes its okay to actually shoot a ball well be fine. Like Achebe said the front court is holding more then its own. Hakeem, Maurice, Kenny and Cato (when back) should be one of the better front courts in the NBA. Our backcourt needs to step up though. And when the team finally gets in sync (and I wish they would stop some of those iso's) we should be okay. A .500 record by the end of this month, and about 4 games over .500 in December is what we should be looking forward to. And I dont think thats that bad.

On track for another losing season.

I know we are going to get better, I just want it sooner, than later.

i agree wholeheartedly with what you guys are saying.

    we will be fine.

no talk of moving steve to the 2 guard.
no talk of cuttino not playing.
    no talk of collier sucking.
    no talk of motay sucking.

    they will be fine. seriously.

what irks me are these posts suggesting that steve hogs the ball and is a jacker. the man needs to shoot more. plain and simple. shoot till the defense starts to adust, then move the ball. you want the perfect example? last year against chicago.

steve established himself in the first quarter to the tune of 20 points then took a total of like 5 shots after that. the d adjusted, so he involved his team, and concentrated on defense. it was absolutely brilliant. IMO, his best game of the entire season.

Mobley and Francis ...are not the two best players on the team.

I just got back from a week or so and stated reading the threads and was flabbergasted at all the negative crud that has been written. I was into one of my patent llllloooooonnnnnngggggg posts when I came across this. I agree 100%.

Relax and enjoy the games. This team is miles ahead of a lot of "veteran" teams. Does anyone realize just how close we came to beating some very superior rostered franchises.

    Relax. We are on track.

Thanks Achebe, saved everyone a lot of reading just to learn what you have already stated.

    AMEN my Rocket brethren!

Man, how refreshing to know that we still have people seeing positive things out there! What an amazing concept.

Let's try and enjoy the season. Stress is bad for your health! Relax! Thanksgiving is coming, and we have a lot to be thankful for, and Francis is a large portion of that!

This Rookie class is so weak that Collier still has an ouside chance of being Rookie of The Month if he keeps his stats up. Thats really sad.

Right On oeilpere. We are on track. Losses to three of the best teams in the League at this point in the season should not be surprising. We are on track so far. Let's see how we do against some of the not so good teams in the coming month.
