God I hope this isn't a hint of an upcoming Lin vs Bev war on these forums. Why are people so annoying?

Seriously...a "stud"...a "rookie"???? He has more pro experience than half our roster and if 11.8 and 2.8 is stud material as a starter, Lin must be elite.

I hate the Lin versus Beverley discussions. They played about the same last season in different ways overall. Posts like this is what creates "LOHs" and "ANJs". If you are okay with small unrepresentative sample sizes as your post suggest, Lin's average in playoff games that he wasn't hurt is 4 and 4 with 4 TOs and 5 PFs. Elite indeed. I like Lin. I think he has higher upside than Beverley because he is better at penetrating. I do like the upside of Beverley, too. Beverley was a rookie in the NBA. His pro experience was in much lesser leagues.
I hate them too...but not as much as elevating Beverly like all the Lin haters are prone to do (and usually just to provoke). Truth be told, Lin at least HAD elite games in his career...and against the Lakers and Spurs. Beverly has been a serviceable backup who's never scored more than 16 points in a game, regardless of playing time.
While I agree with everything you said, this: ...is what creates "LOFs". As far as I can tell, no one mentioned Lin before this. Far too often I see inflammatory posts like these instigating the Lin defense team, creating the Lin vs. whomever debates, which I hate as well. If people and mods are going to decry "LOFs", they need to look at stuff like this, which IMHO is at least half the problem.
Ever occur to you that some people might genuinely appreciate or prefer Beverley without "hating" on Lin? You started all of this by coming in with the "Said no one, ever," as though it is impossible to prefer Bev over Jeremy. People are entitled to favor Bev, just as you are entitled to favor Lin. Let it go.
There is a lot of "LOF" baiting which I hate, too. While Lin's name wasn't referenced before, I think wdeebs or something was the first to do the LOF baiting. I think both sides are to fault. While LOHs may create some LOFs, I think must LOFs were created by Linsanity.

He called Bev a stud...not a "good player with upside". My opinion is that he is wrong and I also believe the intent was to rile up Lin fans....
I happen to think Bev is a stud as well. You can disagree if you want, but to assume that me expressing that is to rile up Lin fans, or that it means I'm "hating" on Lin is ridiculous. Anyway, I'm not going to be a hypocrite and keep going back and forth about it lol... I'm just saying that sometimes you (general you) can let your fandom get so strong that you might see poor intentions where there are none. Some of us are simply Bev fans -- nothing more, nothing less.
Nothing CF does creates LOF. By definition they're here only to support Lin. They attack every other Rocket they perceive to be hurting Lin, while taking every criticism of Lin personally. No problem taking shots at other Rockets... Spoiler yet your not allowed to call Lin anything more than a serviceable backup. Spoiler Also notice one moment it's Bev has tons of "pro experience" already when someone points out this is Beverly's rookie year to... ...all of a sudden now he's "playing in countries not named America." It's whatever fits the argument. There's no discussion to be had here, it's just delusion. Though you're right, my response didn't help, but sometimes frustration boils over.
